Be warned. The latest release of this software is full of bugs-so much so that a pilot machine i installed it on absolutely would no longer boot under my or anyone else's profile. It would boot into safe mode but restore had been turned off. :-(
This release is so bad, it appears Microsoft has completely pulled this software off of my SUS sever!!!!! At least they did the right thing there. No how about TESTING this stuff before you release it!!!! (shakes head) -

Summary
We are a not-for-profit organisation. Our OfficeXP is installed on a XP workstation which was granted to us by a consortium funded by (Scottish) local authority and various Government, Scottish Executive and a plethora of financial inclusion charities.
It's "Scotsman" not "Scotchman"
WE DO NOT HAVE THE *&$!*^! ORIGINAL INSTALLATION DISKS! And I cannot find the installation binaries on any partition or otherwise on this workstation, and I cannot work out who to contact for this provision.
So updating to Office Standard SP3 has amounted to a Denial Of Service direct from MS themselves.
When (or if) I have fixed this I will post my solution.

Most of the security features seem to work but it is incompatible with my video card (GeForce 6200), and caused me to reinstall twice.

It's the last SP for Windows XP, and one would think Gates and Co. would at least get this one right.

5 of 6 games will not load. None of the audio editors will run, Internet Exploder dies with "Program errors", ... When are they going to get it right "A feature without an OFF switch is not a feature, it is a BUG !!
Summary
After SP3 is loaded half of my software will not run. Many shareware apps will not install. I have more of those "are you really really sure" boxes to click off than I had before. XP Pro may BOOT faster but half my apps don't start at ALL.
I have loaded almost all of the fixes listed in SP3 - so I have to assume that it is either the Installation program that is flawed and screw up the registry, or that M$ has "added" some "extra" "Functionality" that they wont tell us about. Back this off and return to SP2 - everything works.
I will repeat one more time 0 the clues to a successful patch
1 - test against EVERY APP OUT THERE ! If you can't take the time to test it, I won't make the effort to buy, load or use it
2 - <repeat until you get it> A FEATURE WITHOUT AN OFF SWITCH IS A BUG !!!!!> -

To other posters,
PLEASE, when writing reviews, please tell us what works, what doesn't, and if possible, at what stages - i.e. - during installation, won't run after (or will), or if only part doesn't work, please tell us which part of the OP SYS doesn't work! If it seems to be harmful, please post what is harmful about it? Since there are post here, and many households only have one computer, I can surmise that there is some workability to it, but then again, not really... for all I know, those posting could be posting from another computer and their's could be DOA on install.
Reading reviews is critical for many of us, but if we don't know exactly what's going on, then it doesn't help much, if at all.

This PACK 3(SP3) caused my computer to completely shut down. I lost everything because I had to reinstall and set up again. 5 yrs of info, pictures, and internet passwords etc. I am so angry I can't speak. Thank you so much.??&*(&(
