Publisher's description of OCRPro
From Digilab:OcrPro is an Optical Character Recognition program based on the center of gravity algorithm with step by step recognition, so that the student can observe each of the main phases for recognition (Preprocessing, normalization, and segmentation). COGOCR.EXE included in the same zip file is a more functional version which accepts input from .TIF files.

"Excellent introduction to OCR"
Pros: Showed exactly what the OCR was doing step by step. readme helped too
Cons: Hard to figure out to use... b/c weird parameter layout

"Good, if you download it for it's intended purpose."
Summary: It's in the teaching tools category, not the Business applications category. For helping programmers get an idea on how ocr works, it's not that bad, especially considering there doesn't appear to be anything else around that's free for that purpose... read more >>
