This simple word-processing application offers more text-editing features than Windows Notepad, but it requires an activation code before you can evaluate the program. NoteMagic's interface visually improves on Notepad by adding buttons and icons in lieu of plain pull-down menus. Numerous other improvements include paragraph alignment, a spelling checker, a case converter, and extended special characters. You can send files as e-mail, and save in three file formats. On the plus side, NoteMagic offers quite a few more features than Notepad. On the minus side, you may have to wait a while for the activation code. On top of that, NoteMagic loads very slowly and uses a large amount of memory. It also automatically sets itself as your default text editor. All in all, NoteMagic doesn't offer any features that make it stand out from its many competitors. Look around, and you can find equally functional text editors that don't require an activation code just to evaluate them.
