Publisher's Description
From DJI Interprises:
Newsbin is a multithreaded news robot that automatically downloads and decodes binary posts to usenet newsgroups. Newsbin will take full advantage of high bandwidth internet connections by allowing multiple simultaneous connections to your news server or servers with or without SSL. It re-assembles multi-part posts across multiple servers and includes an integrated thumbnail viewer when downloading images. The AutoPAR function automatically processes RAR files including correcting/replacing damaged or missing files in a set when PAR2 files are available. Newsbin features advanced newsgroup organization and configuration options, special NZB processing modes, and automatic download mode, and Multiple CPU/Core support to take advantage of high end systems. Newsbin supports regular expression parsing for complex filtering capabilities based on subjects or filenames and provides file size filtering and limits on cross posting. Also includes an optional Usenet search service integrated in the program.
What's new in this version: Version 6.42 has changed behavior of "Download to Folder Named for Subject" and fixed timeout issue.

"Horribly unintuitive for newcomers"
Version: NewsBin Pro 6.42
Pros
It's not semi-abandoned like Newsleecher.
Cons
How many...
'Download into folder named for subject' results in an atrocious mixing of gigabytes and gigabytes of vob files [rather than downloading all "XYZ" movie vob files into the 'XYZ' movie file it downloads ALL VOB files from different movies into one folder jumbling them all up. Just idiotic] Newleecher is far more intuitive. What a mess.
Downloaded files just disappear at times. The log tells you nothing, there's not a trace in the 'failed files' tab. This happens over and over again.
The search function is erratic.
The 'add groups' command does not seem to work for some groups.Summary
The intuitive factor is about a 3 or 4 out of 10. If you don't have hours to sit and figure out a program this ain't for you. If you come from Newsleecher you've got some learnin' to do.
