Editors' review

arcai.com's free Netcut can help you protect your LAN from ARP spoofing and other unwanted intrusions. Netcut monitors LAN activity and displays the addresses and data of all devices connected to it. You can cut off service to any LAN user, change MAC addresses, modify your network adapter settings, and more with Netcut.

Pros

Run as Administrator: Netcut recommends that you run it as a system administrator to maximize its capabilities.

Protected by Netcut Defender: Netcut includes Netcut Defender's protection for the host PC, though you can add Netcut Defender to other computers on your LAN, too (it's free).

Cut them off: You can terminate and restore network access to any computer on your LAN at will with Netcut -- even as a prank, according to the documentation.

Stay safe: Netcut also offers tips and expert advice for keeping your wired or wireless LAN safe.

Cons

Not for the inexperienced: Netcut isn't difficult to use and has plenty of online resources, but it's not for beginners. Machine-translated documentation could confuse inexperienced users.

Speed bump: Netcut can be slow to respond at times and also slowed out connection speed a bit.

Bottom Line

Netcut is a valuable tool for network administrators, and it offers an additional layer of protection against ARP spoofing (and the bad things that can follow). Netcut is free, so it's easy enough to test it in your network to see if it works for you.

    "Good program to use"

    September 28, 2013   |   By Mark_Hendry

    Version: Netcut 2.1.4

    Pros

User friendly tool and also provides you the option to select the network connection that you desire to protect if you are using multiple adapters.

    Cons

: Unfortunately, it does not provide you with any documentation about its usage but it is intuitive enough to accommodate the casual users

"THIS CUTS OFF MY INTERNET CONNECTION, THIS IS A TROJAN"

    November 12, 2011   |   By madatSony

    Version: Netcut 2.1.4

    Pros

NONE< IT IS VIRIS< MESSED UP MY COMPUTER GOOD

    Cons

For six whole months I couldnt figure out why my internet connection was constantly cutting off. I was ready to buy a new computer. Then I installed ZoneAlarm and saw that this program was continually connecting to the internet and each time my connection would go dead. This is why it is called "netcut", I found out it is specifically a trojan to cut off your internet connection.
MUCH THANK YOU TO THE PERSON WHO LISTED ALL THE FILES YOU NEED TO DELETE TO GET RID OF THIS MESS, IT WAS A NIGHTMARE

    Summary

WHY WOULD CNET HAVE A TROJAN PROGRAM ON THEIR SITE?

    "Uninstallable"

    September 11, 2011   |   By wolfstep

    Version: Netcut 2.1.4

    Pros

It does what it claims to. It provides information that it claims too. Very detailed.

    Cons

When you uninstall, it does not uninstall completely! It leaves files that track your usage.

    Summary

This software is good, but I dont like being fooled. While I have not found all the information traked, it does just that. It becomes so intertwined in your systems files that removing it is beyond painful.
