It can be used to build applications, which allow the end-user to perform various operations with audio data such as displaying a waveform image of an audio file, filtering, applying various audio effects, examining the frequency components, and other details about your audio with the Frequency Analysis and Spectral View features, format conversion, and so on. It supports all major audio file formats: Uncompressed WAV PCM; Compressed WAV (GSM, ADPCM, DSP and others); MP3 (MPEG 1/2 Layer 3, including VBR); MP2 (MPEG 1/2 Layer 2); VOX (Dialogic ADPCM); RAW audio (PCM, A-Law, U-Law); WMA (Windows Media Audio 9); Ogg Vorbis (ver 1.0); MPC (MusicPack); G.726, G.723, G.721; AIFF, AIFC (Apple); AU (UNIX). Version 2.5.10 features minor improvements and bug fixes.
