From AMuseTec :MuseBook Metronome is a Metronome running on your PC screen with additional TAP mode. MuseBook Metronome calculates the tapped tempo automatically and displays the result. You can play a different sound on measure beat and other beats as you like by selecting WAV files or MIDI sounds. A basic beep sound is selectable if your computer doesn't have a soundcard. Features include a metronome mode/tap mode; a preset time signature and custom time signature; a wide tempo rate of 30 bpm to 250 bpm; and customizable tick sounds: beep, WAV, and MIDI. MuseBook Metronome 1.2 solves a few problems and features new enhancements. It solved errors in selecting two WAV files for tick sound under Windows 9x, and features a new always on top fuction and a new context menu on the main view by mouse right-click.

"(almost) like a real metronome"
Pros: simple, userfriendly
Cons: tempo not very steady, but is due to OS, set real time priority in task manager
