Mobicip is an integrated browser with deep parental controls that can replace the browsing tools on your child's iOS device. Because it actively replaces Safari, YouTube and the App Store, it allows parents to more strictly monitor and control what children can access from their mobile devices, a tool that while not lacking in iOS, is often underused in most apps.

When you start Mobicip for the first time, you'll be prompted to create an account, which will allow you to monitor and control access to content through the app. After creating the account, you are prompted to turn off access to other apps in the system like YouTube, Safari, and the App Store, making it so users can only access the Web through Mobicip. Once this is done, you have full control over the access restrictions, and the interface is not only intuitive, it's deeply integrated with iOS, making it possible to control a lot more than the straight iOS options ever allowed you to.

There are a lot of parental control apps on the App Store. Some of them offer more features and tools, but they are much more complicated to operate. Mobicip is a well-designed app, it is easy for you to manage, and it offers fairly solid tools to control what children can access and do inside the app. This makes it a powerful tool in your parenting toolkit and a great replacement for the controls offered by default on iOS.

-Proprietary browser filters content and reports suspicious activity to parent. -Enables Covenant-Eyes-like accountability on iOS
Cons
-Works by disabling Safari, App Store, and ability to delete apps. -Browser is slow and clunky (but basically reliable). -Links in other apps like Mail must be manually copied and pasted into Mobicip browser. -No app-specific remote controls. -No app-specific time-blocking. -No internet access time-blocking. -No remote ability to change settings. Administrator needs their own iPhone password, and must manually enable/disable App Store on phone in order to install new apps or delete unwanted apps. -No filtering/tracking of activity on any app besides Mobicip. -Does not work on OS X, so you have to pay for a different service (we use Covenant Eyes) on your desktops/laptops.
Summary
The future is *almost* already here with services that provide much more functionality across iOS and OS X. Haven't tried them yet, but am writing this review b/c ready to move on to something that has app-specific time-blocking, activity tracking for many apps, remote control, and ability to use Safari. Familoop, Circle with Disney, NetSanity, and Qustodio are all working on integrating all these features in the near future (Familoop tells me March for app-specific time-blocking, the only feature missing; Circle predicts going mobile in "early 2016").

Wonderful product! I have been using Mobicip over several years for each of my kids. The service has evolved over time and they keep adding all these nifty features like apps reporting, time limits, and the monitor app (if you have not tried it, download it on your iPhone today. It gives a ringside view of your account without having to use a browser). The web usage reporting is the most useful feature as it helps me understand what my kids like to do on the web, and that has lead to several 'teachable moments' over the time I have used this product. The customer service is excellent and they are extremely helpful every time I get in touch with them.
Cons
Not much I can think of. One of the best products of its kind.

Pros
* Full featured browser. It almost behaves like Safari. Other parental control solutions are really clunky or turn off easily * Filtered all porn sites I tried * There is a companion app called Monitor, for parents that shows usage reports and works reasonably well.
Cons
So far so good. My son is not complaining too much - he'd have lost his iPad privilege without this app :). Haven't had the need to contact their support yet. Will update if I run into any issues there.
Summary
I did a lot of research before subscribing to Mobicip. This is the best such product available. Period! There are some limitations of Apple that sometimes makes it annoying to use like having to copy and paste links from email since you cannot register a different default browser on iOS. But overall we are satisfied.

Pros
Basic (free) services work as advertised.
Cons
Paid services only give you access to more menus; however, any changes you make on those menus MAKES NO DIFFERENCE on the device. It behaves the same as the free version. Custom phrases to block don't get blocked, white/blacklisted websites don't get updated. All you end up with is a $9.99 charge on your credit card and access to the free services.

- Filtering works very well - Excellent Safari replacement in ipad - Good customer support - Does not slow the system( both ipad and Windows)
Cons
- Nothing much to mention here - Does not support Mac books. One of my kids uses a Mac book and I have to shop around for a different filter. It will be great if Mobicip works on Mac too!

The only Pros are the positive reviews which must be put out by people at Mobicip.

The Support Team is incompetent. It is near impossible to speak with an actual person. They are happy to take your money and provide nothing in return.

Support Team is incompetant. Brought a problem to their attention-Mobicip was not sending a report for the activity on the phone-and asked for a resolution. Had to follow up to actually get a resolution. Then, they said the problem was "fixed." What they actually did is remove Mobicip from the phone and unblock everything. My son had a field day with YouTube once again. I have never seen anything like this poor level of customer service. There is no quality control. Incidentally, even when Mobicip was on the phone, YouTube would work intermittently meaning the block was not always working. Save your money. Will pursue a refund and buy something that actually works.

filters some websites - was able to easily see google images.. pointless.
Cons
Charges you to buy the app, then charges you again for a yearly subscription (credit card).. frustrating!
Summary
Took over an hour to finally get setup on the browser .. once setup it was OK, although it took 3 days to hear back from support, and when I did, it was just a canned response (and the website I sent *still* wasn't blocked) - Installed mobsafety instead, still waiting for a refund..
