After dark, an illegal racing syndicate hits the city streets to compete amongst themselves for pink slips and personal pride. Midnight Club II lets you claw your way up the ladder, claiming cars and power-ups as you go. Covering most of its required bases, Midnight Club II is a very solid racing game with high-speed, arcade-style action, yet it should definitely be restricted to high-end machines with at least 32MB video cards. The demo features one city (Los Angeles) and three vehicles, including one motorcycle. At first, standard gameplay consists of finding opponents on the streets and tailing them until you prove your worth. Then, you ll compete in races with checkpoints throughout the city. The pure size of the playing field can make for a frustrating time searching for opponents, but the city looks great and exploring shortcuts and jumps can be fun in and of itself. Network multiplayer support is also included in the demo, as well as other game modes like Capture the Flag.
Publisher's description
From Rockstar :Members of the world's most notorious illegal street racing syndicate meet each night on the streets of Los Angeles, Paris, and Tokyo. Find yourself in the position of a novice challenger, set on penetrating this secret society and trumping them all, one by one. Add insult to injury, as you win the suped-up rides of defeated adversaries, all on your way to being crowned international champion. Just remember, there are no rules. Use whatever routes, shortcuts and driving methods necessary to hit those checkpoints and arrive at the finish line before your opponent has a chance.

Version: Midnight Club II demo
"Great game...better than the competition at the time!"
Pros: Great game.
Great graphics.
Better than the competition at the time (Need For Speed: Underground...the first game in the series).
Very fun to play.
Game did NOS boosts in a very cool and realistic way.
Game originally brought the idea of "underground" racing to fruition.
Cons: Game didn't let you upgrade cars. You only won new cars by beating new AI opponents.
Last few races in the game a bit difficult.
No online multiplay value...I don't even think there was the ability to play multiplayer.
Wasn't really realistic...if you blew up your car you would just respawn and continue racing.

Version: Midnight Club II demo
"Excellent size for the demo!"
Pros: It gives you 2 cars and one motorbike and a whole city to roam around plus you can race against opponents as well. It dosen't need a new machine to run it. The textures overall are quite sharp althought the veichle textures could be a bit better. tcpkid _82 said:
''Cons: the game has good graphics and detail but no multiplayer options and it doesn't have free ride like midnight club 3 dub edition.''
In answer to that the demo does not have m/player but it has got free ride!!!
Cons: The steering is a bit too sensitive on keyboard but on the steering wheel the car accelerates with the brake and throttle pedal! (Microsoft Sidewinder)
The 2 songs get annoying after a while, thank godness in the full game you can put your own music on it!

Version: Midnight Club II demo
Pros: Everything!
Cons: The Cars(not the motocycles) Don't Handle Like Real Cars. If You Want Real Car Handling, Try FlatOut Or FlatOut2.

"i think midnight club 2 is a really good game for a demo."
Pros: the game is good for being a demo. it doesn't have multiplayer gaming options but it has good graphics and detail. i would recomend this awsome download but if you have slow internet or low ddr ram i think you should not download it.
Cons: the game has good graphics and detail but no multiplayer options and it doesn't have free ride like midnight club 3 dub edition.
