- Of all the freeware calculators currently available (as of Feb 12, 2010), Microsoft Calculator Plus 1.0 is the best calculator for everyday purposes. The only reason this calculator wouldn't satisfy your needs is if your profession or academic demands (esp. engineering, finance, physics, astronomy, etc.) calls for functionality that is unique to your area of expertise. Otherwise, standard scientific functions are available to you here. Basically, download the app.
