With the release of Massive Assault Network, independent developer Wargaming.net has focused on the strongest aspects of the turn-based strategy game and added community features such as ladders, tournaments, chat channels, mentors, and rankings. This war game is most successful as a military chess battle between two armchair commanders, and Massive Assault Network focuses on that aspect of the game entirely, eschewing the sometimes tedious and difficult single-player campaigns of the original game. The multiplayer gameplay is identical to Massive Assault. The goody-two-shoes Free Nations Union and the sinisterly attractive Phantom League compete in a hex-based environment with identical units. The action is turn-based but has 3D graphics that make the action appear in real time. Since units differ in price, firing power, firing range, and movement capabilities, the players must optimize their forces and maneuver them correctly on the battlefield to lay any claims to victory.
The free Massive Assault Network client offers eight training missions, three single-player campaigns of increasing difficulty, and an unlimited number of online games on the Emerald planet. Subscribers get access to all the planets (currently eight), can play in tournaments, and have no rank limitation. Massive Assasult Network offers a great way for new players to fully explore the nuts and bolts of an engaging two-person strategy game.

Version: Massive Assault Network v1.2.211 client
"perfect from gameplay point of view"
Pros: best ever in the genre
Cons: steals all spare time from u
Summary: The gameplay is fair - AI isn't cheating like in other games. It's quite simple to understand the rules, but rather difficult to apply the knowledge (in battles against live opponents especially)
