The small and simple Masking Password Generator Pro generates passwords using either a suggested list of masking patterns or masks you define yourself. Password layouts include a simple word, a random-characters group, and the more complex registration key, consisting of several groups of numbers in a predefined format. Mask-customization options are excellent. You can copy the generated passwords to the clipboard or a file. The paid version lets you merge passwords with an existing spreadsheet or database, though the demo disables that feature. In another, more disappointing trial limitation, the software generates only five passwords at a time, which makes the practical use of the trial version questionable. The interface may look a bit complex and crowded, but Windows users should find it easy to pick up. The software installs and runs flawlessly. A detailed help file explains every aspect of the program. Masking Password Generator Pro can be a convenient tool for Internet-access providers, database maintainers, software distributors, or anyone else dealing with mass-authorized access to various resources.
