Publisher's description
From Monoraveik :MR1200 is an MP3 player designed specifically for DJing with. Rather than use a PC to replace an entire two-decks-and-a-mixer rig, it replaces only the decks, so you can continue to use your own separate mixer. This allows full use of mixer and headphones for prefading, meaning tracks can be mixed together as they always could be with decks.
With two soundcards in your PC (although it is possible with only one) and two instances of MR1200 running, or even two PCs, you can treat your MP3s just like vinyl.
The platter behaves exactly like a real record deck - grab it and it stops, pull it backwards and it plays backwards. The Platter can also emulate the jog wheel on a CD deck. Other features include a choice of +8 or +20 pitch control, with separate fine tuning, nudging and twisting emulation, real instant start, cue points, reverse play, pitch control inversion, quartz lock, time elapsed, remaining and total displays, and full mouse and keyboard control.

Version: MR1200 MP3 Player For DJs 1.6
Pros: Very effective software, and if you read the readme file, the author tells you exactly what can and cannot be done with this program. I have a widescreen LCD monitor and two instances fit very nicely onto my desktop, and my twin Sound Blaster live cards couldn't be a better match. The Sound is very clear, and you can definitely tell the difference between a 128k bitrate and a 320k bitrate when using larger DJ speakers (Cerwin Vega Classic Stack). Cueing songs are a breeze, jogging is flawless, along with nudging and twisting. Although this is freeware, i'd gladly pay for this mighty little app.
Cons: Once again, read the readme file... very slim chance this app will ever be released for Linux. *sigh*

"Excellent - does exactly what its creator says it does!"
Pros: I've been looking for some time now for a product which would allow me to beatmix my vinyl and mp3 collections via my mixer. This program allows me to do just that AND FOR FREE! Admittedly, it's not packed full with features but hey, the SL1200 isn't either and it's probably the best vinyl turntable money can buy. This is an excellent product so many thanks to its programmer!
Cons: OK so this is getting away from the beautiful simplicity of this program but I think a file menu would be handy to load tracks/cue a playlist instead of having to drag and drop each and every file onto the virtual player for it to load. Also, I found setting the 'cue line' to be a bit fiddly but that could be because I'm still getting used to the interface. Though it's not a perfect program (and what program is?) I'm still going to give it five stars!

Version: MR1200 MP3 Player For DJs 1.6
Pros: Today (Sunday 4-10-2005) my friend and I used your MR1200 to mix our own created music that is still only on our pc.
We DJ for 12 years or so and we learnt it like you with only 2 direct drive turntables and a cheap mixer( we dislike beat counters too).
My friend was playing records and I started to load one of our creations in the MR1200.
I started to play a little with the track and the feeling was very good.
In no time I managed to throw it in like a normal vinyl record( used the platter to find the start of the beat )
After playing a little with the pitch and the nudge and twist buttons our own creation was in sync with the one that was played on the SL1200 that my friend played over the speakers.
Joy in our hearts with that first test.
We where never able to mix one of our own creations trough an already playing record because of the pitch problem so we only started with our own tracks.
We played all day with vinyl and used your MR1200 also and we are very pleased with it.
It work like a real SL1200 in many ways and that is what we want.
Thanks a lot for creating and sharing this piece of software.
Cons: If I compare it to an Technics SL1200MKII there are only pros

"Tried everything else and this is easily the best..."
Pros: I've been dj'ing in warehouses and nightclubs since I was 14 (now 28) with technics 1200's and for me the manual manipulation of the vinyl was something lost forever with the advent of software like traktor, virtual dj, ableton and so on but nevertheless I tried to find a digital alternative now that the majority of my collection is on mp3 and to be honest, half are either overcomplicated, cluttered and better suited to production mixes like the aforementioned or nothing more than toys like winamp plugins and the tactile1200 for example. On discovering the mr1200 I was stunned as it was not only EXACTLY what i was looking for but also rock solid stable and very easy to manipulate! I'm now encoding all my vinyl to mp3 for use in the mr1200 and I can honestly say this is the best app on the market for old skool vinyl jocks like myself. An absolutely excellent freeware program which I cannot praise highly enough. Ten out of ten.
Cons: I feel guilty getting paid in the club when I've paid nothing to the author, how do I pay you!!!

"Waited a long time for this."
Pros: This app delivers, and it's free. The feel and look of the best table's you could get. Everything you can do with real tables you can do with this, plus more. (just need a new mixer now to use it to full advantage.)
Cons: Took a while to load song's with my 800mhz amd w/ 256mb ram. But that dosen't say much.
