"Contains Malware"
Version: Look@LAN Network Monitor 2.5 build 35
Pros
I don't know yet
Cons
Contains Adware or Malware - My security program detected PUP.CNET.Adware.Bundle which means that Cnet is not so clean
Summary
Install it at your own risk and scan it with an antivirus or anti malware program

"Outstanding! Works well and is easy to use. FREE!"
Version: Look@LAN Network Monitor 2.5 build 35
Pros
Easy to install, easy to use, does what it's supposed to.
Cons
It would have been nice to have side-by-side bar graphs of LAN activity for selected IPs, but it would be nice to win the lottery too!
Summary
I was looking for a small, easy to use program to monitor the activity on my home LAN. This does the job quite well for me. It has many more features than I will ever need, but they don't get in the way for a simple use. If you need more power, it's there for you when you do. Well done piece of software. And this version is free. Sophistocated users will surely want to investigate the retail versions of the newer product line.

-
"contains malware"
Version: Look@LAN Network Monitor 2.5 build 35
Pros
Nothing. No benefit for me.
Cons
It downloaded photojoy program as well as photojoy toolbar.
Summary
The Cnet message that stated it was free of malware was wrong.

"Awesome albeit buggy"
Version: Look@LAN Network Monitor 2.5 build 35
Pros
Quickly scans any set of IPs, shows you what services are running on any one IP, graphical ping and tracert, save IP scan results as CSV, HTML, PDF, & other formats. In a pinch it can be run standalone (as long as you can read Italian XD)
Cons
Crashes like crazy (after 5 min, or instantly if it's in a bad mood). There doesn't seem to be any chance of an update. In fact, I'm surprised the website is still up (the download link at the site is broken, I'm lucky it's still available here).
Summary
This baby is a MUST HAVE if you manage a network. In spite of it's unreliability, the features and speed of this baby make it MUCH MORE than worth the headache.

"Good at discovery, not great to monitor activity"
Version: Look@LAN Network Monitor 2.5 build 35
Pros
It is fast and really gives a good look at the whole network
Cons
It does not tell you "live" information about network activity, you have to hit refresh. I am looking to see who at work is actively moving files to and from my media hard drive. This does not work for that.
