CNET Editors' review
Lockdown is a donation-ware app that can help you secure your Mac against physical tampering. It disables your Mac to would-be intruders by sounding an alarm whenever a variety of user-specified triggers is set off, including your Macs motion sensor. It also can lockdown the keyboard, mouse, and other external devices, or--for MacBooks--your lid, trackpad, or MagSafe adapter.
Lockdown sounds a loud alarm and prevents your Mac from being put to sleep or muted, and it can also take and e-mail a picture using your iSight camera. Lockdown is most effective by far when combined with an Apple Remote, which lets you quickly activate and deactivate Lockdowns alarm with the Menu button. Lockdown requires Mac OS X 10.5 or later.
Publisher's Description
From Foozoo Design:
Lockdown is a Mac security application built from the popular iAlertU. With a new interface, splash screen, and icon, Lockdown makes securing your Mac while you step away even easier than ever. You can customize its detection features by activating your computer's motion-sensors, keyboard-sensors, external device sensors, MagSafe sensors, and more to ensure that not even the slightest tap goes unnoticed.
Once your alarm has been set off, your computer will sound a loud alarm and prevent the system from being muted or put to sleep. Lockdown will take a snapshot of the offender using your computer's built in iSight and, if you've entered your e-mail address, e-mail the snapshot to the account of your choice.
Using your Apple Remote, you can arm and disarm Lockdown from anywhere in the room. Simply start the application and hold down the "Menu" button on your Apple Remote to arm the system. Hold down the "Menu" button once more to disarm it and resume using your computer.

"Doesn't work on OSX.5.6 !"
Version: Lockdown 1.0.6
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Doesn't work on OSX.5.6 ! Even with all sensors enabled as triggers nothing makes the siren go off. Shaking the MBP, or tapping the keyboard, or the trackpad, or whatever. Nothing!
I'm going back to iAlertU. Been using it for 2 years now. Works like a charm. Excellent if you need to step out to get a cup of coffee, or to go to the bathroom, etc.
Whenever I am in a new place I demo the siren before I step out for the first time so that everybody within 60 to a 100 feet clearly gets the message. And it works, putting the fear of God in anyone around, because my MBPs have NEVER been stolen, nor has the siren even been 'accidentally' set off.

"Good, but just a few negatives"
Version: Lockdown 1.0.6
Pros
The emailing feature and the locked screen.
Cons
You can easily mute the alarm by pressing the mute key before it activates (when it's not on splash screen mode).
Another security hole is the lack of password protection for the settings.
I wish you could change the sound and the splash screen.Summary
It's still a very good free program, despite it's security flaws. But they need to be fixed to ensure optimum protection. If your going to use this at starbucks, I still recommend using a cable lock, just to make sure. Adjust it to force maximum volume and use the splashscreen.

"Makes me look like a jackass"
Version: Lockdown 1.0.6
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I love lockdown with the apple remote and my laptop, but I wish the Lockdown splash screen had the option to override my screen going black from energy saver or whatever. I keep walking up and not seeing anything but a black screen and I either move the mouse or tap the keyboard to get the login screen and/or have the screen go back on and the siren starts blasting because I forgot I set the alarm because I see a black screen instead of the Lockdown splash screen. It makes me look like a jackass scrambling to grab the remote from my pocket while the alarm is squealing like a stuck pig all over the coffee shop. I get looks of disapproval from the caffeinated ppl. Plz fix. -
"Works great!"
Version: Lockdown 1.0.6
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Started with 1.0.5 and now on 1.0.6. Works as stated and is a fantastic piece of freeware. I highly recommend that you donate if you find the product useful.
Btw changelog for 1.0.6 since it isn't posted here.
Version 1.0.6
- Splash screen now fades away after 60 seconds
- Fixed issue with setting Lockdown's "Motion Sensitivity" to high. Important: If you are experiencing problems with Lockdown's alarm triggering too easily, you'll need to drag the slider at least one tick mark away from its current location. Afterwards, you can then drag it back to wherever you'd like.
- Added more documentation to Lockdown's interface
