This free Firefox add-on saves you the hassle of performing multiple searches for the same word, but we found it awkward to navigate.
Hyperwords for Firefox appears as a pop-up menu when you either select text on a Web page or perform a search via the Firefox search field. The menu isn't much to look at, but you'll find all sorts of links for reference, news, and social-networking Web sites. We were able to type a word into a single field and search multiple sources without having to retype the word. Likewise, we were able to select a word on a Web page and perform the same quick searches. We especially liked the options for e-mailing links and mapping locations directly from the Web page.
The program is a bit annoying and awkward to navigate because it pops up every time you search, even when you don't want to use it. The preferences menu does offer you several options for activating the program and we found that the F2 option worked best for preventing the program from making an unwanted appearance. Even with that minor annoyance, this is a great program for speeding up your Internet searches.

"Annoying"

Pros
It was very comprehensive and curiously fun for maybe a day or so. If you don't usually highlight stuff on firefox then I suppose it would be less annoying. This would be an interesting tool for teachers to use so they could define a word with a single double click on a smart board setting.
Cons
It was very bothersome for a couple of reasons:
1) There is a google search bar in a far right hand top corner that can add a search engine for dictionary.com which is exactly what this program does.
2) It got in the way of everyday highlight, copy, paste progress.
3) It took a lot of space and slowed down firefox by a fraction.

"Unbelievable!"

Pros
This add-on enables one to access an unbelievable amount of info with just a couple of clicks! Truly a must have for Firefox!
Cons
The only problem I've found with it is, when it translates a word into another language, it shows the translated word in double? Also, when I downloaded the file from here, for some reason it opened in Notepad. It downloaded & installed just fine from the author's site.

This makes the entire web more dynamic and more searchable! It lets me leap off in any direction with any word or words on any page, filing or looking up or blogging, almost as easily as just thinking about it. Utterly invaluable for anyone who wants to use the web better.
Cons
I just wish Firefox extensions worked in Apple's Safari! But that's Safari's fault, not Hyperwords'...

It's just a genius thing! I've already removed 4 FireFox extension I used before I installed Hyperwords. I strongly recommend this product for all people who actively uses web and for those who wants to make their surfing easier and more productive.
Cons
I'd like to have IE version too.
