Liquid Story Binder XE is a comprehensive program that allows users to organize every aspect of the novel-writing process. The program's many features are almost its downfall, however, as the number of capabilities is somewhat overwhelming.

The program's interface manages to be both sleek and awkward. Each of its various tools opens in a new window, and the program allows users to save their preferred combination of windows as a workspace. We can see how this would be beneficial, but we prefer tabs over multiple windows. We were also bothered by the program's default color scheme, which consists of white and gray type on a black background. Fortunately, this can be changed. As for features, this program has them in spades. And we had no idea how to use any of them without spending a good chunk of time in the Help file. Fortunately, this is well-written and contains a Quick Start Guide. Still, we felt overwhelmed by all of the features that the program offers. Chapters, builders, dossiers, journals, outlines, mindmaps...phew! And that's just the tip of the iceberg! We loved that the program allows users to create playlists of songs to write to and galleries of inspirational images. We love a lot of the possibilities for organization and novel structuring that this program offers, and users who are prepared to devote some time to learning the program's ins and outs may be richly rewarded. But other users may find that the program is just too much.

Liquid Story Binder XE has a 30-day trial period, and it installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program to all users.

Great stable story writing software made with almost every utility that a writers needs

Summary
This software is the best software that any writer could have you can do character journals, make notes, add pictures that inspire you to write. The possibilities are endless. This is better than writers block 3 because you can literally do your entire novel within the program. My only gripe is that there is no punctuation, grammar checker that i've seen so you;ll need to couple it with something like white smoke. If you want something like that. I recommend downloading it from Black Obelisk site directly before buying it so that you get the most updated version. The Color schemes are also weird but luckily with a little tweeking you can set it the way you want. All in all it may not be perfect, but the defects are minor and can be worked around. I personally bought whitesmoke and plan on using that and LSB program together. They make a great combination.

This is currently on v.3. so you should go to the publisher's site to get the latest version, since it's not updated her for whatever reason. There's a lot to learn with this software, but there's nothing better. Absolutely amazing.

I've tried every word processing, story organizing/creating software on the market (both free and not). From all that trial and error, I can tell you that this is the best available. <p> <p> <p>Most of these products fail because they were created by companies that have no idea what writers actually need in this kind of software. They are either sloppy, inadequate, or just filled with functions that no one will ever need (thereby confusing the user, and cluttering the work area). <p> <p> <p>This software succeeds because it has everything a writer needs (including a few features I didn't even know could be so useful), without overloading the user with senseless filler. Here are some of the features... <p> <p> <p>Chapter trees, <p> <p> <p>Story Boards (for text or pictures), <p> <p> <p>Notes, <p> <p> <p>Outlines, <p> <p> <p>Wordcount (a lot of software neglects this important feature), <p> <p> <p>Timelines, <p> <p> <p>Builders (for characters, chapters, plots, ideas, etc.), <p> <p> <p>A Library (for storing and viewing you books), <p> <p> <p>Document Cleaner (fixes layouts, paragraphs, etc.). <p> <p> <p> <p>And a lot more. What I love most about this software is that it has everything I need, is customizable, while still being incredibly easy to use. <p> <p> <p>I'm currently still using the 30 day free trial (the trial is for the full version, not some sub-par version), but will absolutely be buying this.
