This application may help you learn basic French vocabulary, but the demo disables most of the truly helpful features. We like how Linguata French aids memorization by letting you associate images with words and change words' size and color. On the plus side, we appreciate the large amount of word lists, including those for the zoo, fruit, and household items. In theory, the program lets you test yourself via a few methods, including sentence building, pronunciation, spelling, and listening. However, as none of these features are available in the demo, you'll have to make do with simply looking at the included words and manually memorizing them. The ability to save lists as a WAV file for later listening is a helpful feature, but again, the trial version only gives you a tiny taste of this feature. Linguata French works for simple vocabulary building, but this trial version isn't appropriate as a full-blown language tutor.
