It's not surprising someone combined the story and settings of the geek-tacular Star Wars franchise with the nerd-licious Lego aesthetic. What is surprising is how much fun Lego Star Wars offers, with the ability to switch among a wide variety of characters from the prequel trilogy, including the oft-maligned yet flexible Jar Jar Binks.
The demo consists of one short mission from the full game and an exploratory mode. In the mission, you control Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, and the silver android that looks like C-3PO (yes, I know it's TC-14) through the beginning scenes of The Phantom Menace. Don't worry: Jar Jar is nowhere to be seen--yet. The controls are keyboard-based, logical, and different for each character. Attack or defend with one key, then use another for special moves, which for the Jedis involves the Force. There's a special thrill in using telekinesis to rearrange Lego doors and contraptions into new objects, not to mention throwing small droids willy-nilly. After you've finished the mission, you can switch among 10 characters and explore the federation ship at your leisure. If you're a fan of either Star Wars or Legos, be sure to give this demo a look.

Play the most memorable and exhilarating scenes from The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and the forthcoming Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, including pod racing on Mos Espa, the repelling of the droid onslaught in the Genosian arena, and Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon's fatal fight with Darth Maul. As you progress through the game, you unlock many new characters, including those from the Dark Side, and you must switch among them to solve puzzles using their special abilities.
This PC demo lets you play as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn in the opening sequence from The Phantom Menace.

The game seemed to have some challenging aspects. Who doesn't like Lego's?
Who doesn't like Star Wars? Great joining of the two! I also liked that there was very little dialogue, and that you can switch between characters.
Cons
It's hard to tell from the demo, but there seemed to be too many puzzles!! I like the piling of boxes and the force powers to get access, but pulling levers and flipping switches I don't . I don't think I will be buying the game.

Fun game, lego star wars was a great idea, and I liked the game. Good gameplay, fun to kill droids!
Cons
NO MOUSE! Why create a game, and let the mouse be usable? In the demo at least, you cant use the mouse which was So annoying. It took forever to finally get the controls to where I could play the game, but it needs a mouse!

The graphics are pretty, and it's an extra helping of fun to be able to assemble loose piles of Legos and ride vehicles like the walker.
Cons
Install (of demo) was fine, and the game loads and runs beautifully on my machine - BUT, eternal hang on exit. I'm hoping someone knows why (like the suggestion for the pixel-shader fix).

A very cute and enjoyable LucasArts game. Play through the first three episodes of the popular LucasArts Star Wars series. Although seemingly childish (lego pieces!) the game is actually very enjoyable. Play as a multitude of characters like Obi Wan and Captain Panaka, and wreak destruction to the Empire! At less than 300mbs, this is a top download!
