find string seems to not work when the string is a number (series of digits), says string not found... but, it may in the file; if you use the button to search backwards it will find it

Pros
Opened a 4 gig log file immediately. Had the entire file available to me (20 mil lines) inside of 2 minutes. TextPad wouldn't touch it. Notepad++ thought about it, Notepad?..forget it. Does search well and I like the split screen option too.
Cons
Not real intuitive for beginners and the inexperienced and no installation - just an .ini and and .exe but that's all you need anyway. Like the previous reviewer said, "But then again, why would an inexperienced user need it?"

Small, fast, and does what it says. I need to open large files (>200MB) routinely and this tool does the job.
Cons
Complex, not for the average user.
No installer package, just a zip file

Lightweight, no install, no frills, good interface and a touch of humor

Screens are a bit complex for inexperienced users. But then again, why would an inexperienced user need it?
Summary
I needed to open a 1GB text file. This program saved me valuable time and possibly money. It is a free program, but don't let that dissuade you. It is a powerful program that can read large files and page through them with ease. The search feature is fast and keeps you entertained during long searches with different animated characters each time. All in all, 4.5 stars in my opinion.
