The Koi Fish 3D Screensaver is a highly customizable way to add bit of Asian flair to your computer. Some of its options, however, seem a bit esoteric and contrary to the relaxing simplicity the screensaver tries to inspire.
The graphics are lovely, with not-quite-photo-realistic renderings of koi swimming in shallow water. The scene is framed with leaves, as though users are peering down through trees into a tranquil stream. The water surface ripples and occasionally a dragonfly buzzes past. However, the trial version plays only briefly before being interrupted by a large text box encouraging users to buy the program; this nag screen remains until the screensaver is purchased.
The configuration menu is easily accessed and intuitive. Users can enjoy the gentle Japanese-inspired music that comes with the screensaver or easily select songs of their own. Or turn off the music entirely to listen to the splashing water and birdsong, sounds that are also easily disabled. The volume of both the music and sounds can be adjusted independently.
Somewhat less helpfully, users are offered the options of "high water quality," "shadows," and "caustic" video settings that result in nearly imperceptible changes in the graphics. Likewise, the "gamma control" setting allows users to adjust the brightness of the screensaver, but it seems to be at its best when left at the default setting.
As long as you're not the type to obsessively fiddle with pointless settings, the Koi Fish 3D Screensaver makes an attractive and relaxing addition to any computer.

i am reviewing all screensavers by 3planesoft, not just koi fish. to date there are about 48 savers in all, 2 are free. these screensavers are simply amazing, our computers would not be the same without them installed. we have the lost installed too. the built in screensaver manager lets you rotate the savers at set intervals, or even display them in a random order. as an avid fan of screensavers i have spent many hours scouring the internet for them, and i can say hand on heart that NO other company matches the quality of 3planesoft. support is excellent and emails are answered. i would highly recommend 3planesoft products to anyone. all 48 savers can be obtained from the 3planesoft website and thesre is an 85% price discount if you wish to purchase all in one go. and in my opinion they are well worth the money

I like the flowing different back grounds and fish look So real swimming through the water. Not your tipical screensaver that shows fish swimming though a fish tank. This is a view looking down on a pond of Koi as they swim under water plants & logs.

None that I can think of.

Water drips from up above and you can see the riples it creats tin the water as a fish swims past. You have some options & choices. It is wirth the few dollars to get the full version.
