This firmware update makes the following improvements to the previous firmware release. Version 1.03 improves lens performance when lens meets with resistance during extension and fixes issues with some types of SD memory cards.

"Fails to Properly Upgrade in Camera"

Cons
Tried using EasyShare software (as per Kodak's instructions) to install this firmware. This repeatedly failed. Did manage to get firmware on to internal memory and on to external SD card, despite EasyShare failure messages. Note that I upgraded to the most recent version of EasyShare to do this. In neither case was the automated camera firmware upgrade successful.
Have not yet tried using an external card reader, but doubt that this will make a difference.
