This alarm-clock program offers plenty of flexibility for every type of reminder. A straightforward interface lets you get started right away by letting you pick what type of alarm you need and whether you need it only once or as a recurring reminder. At the appointed time, Kirby Alarm and Task Scheduler can send an e-mail, pop up a brief message on your desktop, launch a program, or play a sound. You also can set it to skip alarms missed when your computer is turned off. We like the ability to set recurring alarms, which makes it convenient to launch a monthly hard-drive back-up program or serve up a quick reminder about recurring appointments. The Watch File feature lets you configure the program to trigger an alarm only once a file meets certain conditions, such as starting a back-up once a virus scan finishes. Anyone looking for an easy way to pop up useful reminders or to launch recurring processes should check out Kirby Alarm And Task Scheduler.

    "Excellent!!!!"

by mmcbs on June 11, 2008

Pros: I have used Kirby Alarm for several years and recently installed the latest version 4.45. The reminder/alarm process is extremely easy to use and reliable, customer service is excellent. Highly recommend this if you need an alarm/reminder service that doesn't rely on the Internet or huge program (e.g. Outlook) to work. Many more features are available in the newest version that take this program to new heights of functionality.

"EVERYTHING Ian writes in the publisher description is TRUE"

    by dk54 on August 6, 2008

Pros: and a lot more. I've used Kirby Alarm Pro for over three years and have never encountered a bug. Features I use *dozens* of times a day are emails to be sent at future dates (repeating too: remind yourself or one or more people), launching EXE's for anything, restarting the computer. snoozing alarms on tasks you REALLY don't want to do now (you can snooze them for weeks and weeks, too), repeating events like MWF or MWTh courses in college or 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month of third Saturday of every month etc, or a huge range of recurrences, reminders with sound and bring your own sounds (volume, too) if you are away from your desk), COPYing alarms for easy reproduction or slight alteration, a valuable log if an event gets by you so you can reschedule it and just buy it.

For such an intricate product and large customer base, Ian is astonishingly responsive to suggestions for enhancements. He's back to you as his contact page says: usually within 24 hours.

No, I do not work for him. With all the hype and money billion-dollar companies get for software that doesn't work so we have to upgrade it, Ian's Kirby Alarm Pro and his other products are a hackneyed but true oasis in a desert.

    Try it, you can't lose.

Cons: For no apparent reason, some sub-screens like the one to fill in a snooze time appear on far upper ends of the screen. Much easier is if it's near the bottom for less mouse movement for us lazy Americans.

    "all the bases for scheduling."

    by james2 on November 15, 2009

Pros: may require fumbling toward learning. there is very good 'help' section. [a manual would be even better].

Cons: so packed with functions, one may not find something one can use. [whatever is there is usually well thought out, though.]
sometimes complex to use and takes'cat-on-the-piano-keys' fumbling [but what one wants to do usually can be done]

Summary: i like to be able to keep my hourly / daily / weekly / annual life accessible and 'in-my-face'.i spend much time in front of my computer screen, so being able to access and control as much as possible from there is convenient and important to me. read more >>
