ImageCD Catalog is a clever program that allows users to create libraries containing thumbnails of photographs that are stored on CDs. For photographers who tend to store images this way, ImageCD Catalog provides a quick way to find images without having to physically dig through a bunch of CDs.

The program's interface is basic and fairly intuitive, with a handful of buttons for frequently used functions and everything else organized in drop-down menus. Although not everything is intuitive--we had to check the built-in Help file to find out how to start a slideshow--for the most part the program is easy to use, and the Help file is well done. Since we share a household with an avid photographer, we had no trouble finding a disc full of images to use with ImageCD Catalog. We put the disc in, the program scanned for images, and a moment later we had a nice catalog of thumbnails. We liked that the program allows users to adjust the size and quality of the thumbnails and add keywords to them. This allows users to organize their images on their computers without sacrificing valuable disc space. The only catch is that users will have to keep their CDs organized in order to quickly find their desired image once they've located the thumbnail in ImageCD Catalog.

ImageCD Catalog is free to try, but the trial version allows only one CD per catalog, and only four images per folder. The program installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program to all users seeking a simple way to organize their digital photos.
