Some drawbacks include the program's inability to support batch conversions. While the interface is functional, it isn't the most aesthetically pleasing. Although the program has some nifty features and can convert a variety of file formats, I prefer freeware Imagicon Version 2.4. Although the source images in Imagicon are limited to BMP, JPG and PNG, all you have to do is drag and drop the source file and, presto!, you've got an icon.
However, users who need more flexibily will find Icon Image Convert a more refined product. For $20, it's affordfable.
Cons
The interface is sloppy and poorly designed (I designed user interfaces and software for a living) and this one needs to cleaned up and functions need to be grouped and labeled more neatly. It's simply not intuitive.

I am not sure WHAT everyone is doing or talking about when this program is NOT that great. It lacks Batch Conversion, Icon Quality is poor, does NOT handle Alpha Transparency correctly, etc, etc... There are other programs just as small that do ALOT more and ALOT better so they really need to fix this one up. It has NO MAJOR FLAWS but it offers so little with a non-intuitive user interface so I am NOT sure why so many people are downloading it...
