Developer’s Description

By Jorge Vilas
Consult the Book of Changes from your desktop.

The I Ching, or Book of Changes, is the world's oldest oracle; it's the accumulated experience of over 2,500 years of diviners and sages, and beyond that of unimaginably ancient oral traditions; it's the voice that has been offering people help and wise, genial guidance for generations. When you consult the I Ching, choosing a question is one of the most important parts of the process.

The use of dropping three coins on a surface (as simulated in version 1.0 of this widget) is actually a westernized version, and does not have the same statistical probability as the original Chinese method of divining the changes with the Yarrow Stalk method. The 16 tokens method reproduces the same odds as the yarrow stalks, but is much faster - as fast as throwing coins. I Ching widget uses 16 gems in four colors to reproduce the 16 tokens method. Click on the Yin Yang icon to open or close de window. You can select the language of your preference (English/Spanish). This version is the first release on CNET Download.com.
