HitmanPro 3 (64-bit) is a second opinion scanner, designed to rescue your computer from malware (viruses, spyware, and rootkits.) that have infected your computer despite all the security measures you have taken (such as anti virus software and firewalls.). Just relying on a single vendor is not sufficient to completely protect you. You do need a second source to make sure you are secure. HitmanPro 3 (64-bit) is designed to work alongside existing security programs without any conflicts. It scans the computer quickly (less than 5 minutes) and does not slow down the computer (except for the few minutes it is scanning). HitmanPro 3 (64-bit) does not need to be installed. It can be run straight from a USB flash drive, a CD or DVD, local or network attached hard drive.
What's new in this version: Version 3.7.3.194 has minor improvements to Compatible Disk Access mode.

After reading Tons of reviews for this product, I Very Much Wanted to like it. Unfortunately, it was just too frustrating (See "Cons" for reasons) so I will, instead, continue to rely on the Outstanding MBAM for my ancillary scanner.

You would THINK that an standout company like HitmanPro would have the utterly basic courtesy of providing AT the LEAST a minimalist Help File OR a basic FAQ Section. I read their website Top-to-Bottom & still could not answer extremely basic questions about their product, like: Why is it when you tell it to "Ignore" Good Files that it Fails to Ignore them (the same False-Positives pop up at EVERY Scan); AND: Since the Ignore Function Fails, will HitmanPro auto-delete what it finds? Now perhaps you will argue I should assume such basic courtesy from Hitman. I refuse to subject my computer to Any risk from a company that lacks the basic courtesy of even a simplistic help file. Sorry, uninstalled with disgust.

HitmanPro lacks the basic courtesy of providing Detailed answers to users who require it. They could simply leave their over-simple pages as-is for the naive, while providing in-depth information for advanced users.

I ran a scan of my PC and Hitman correctly identified cookies, but flagged every one of my C++ student programs (written with Visual Studio 2010) as viruses.

I had a IE bug, that many other security software (malwarebytes, microsoft security and defender & super antispyware, to name but three) only partially addressed...or ignored ...and Hitpro removed it.
Cons
Not much functionality, and very conflicting prices to buy... usd$19.95 according to cnet, usd$24.95 on developers shop site, and (despite australian dollar being higher than us dollar)...AUD$26.95

30 day free trial is nice. I do appreciate that everyone! Fast scan time, Fairly light on system during scan time, any slowdowns on system is hard to notice but i did,(so slight it didn't matter). Good little piece of software. does a good job. thanks everyone!

A bit pricey,, I wouldn't pay for it. Should be like MBAM, buy it once , good for life. Then I'd buy it. It's not that I'm cheap ya understand, it's just what it's worth, in my opinion. It is a cloud based program, which is fine, if yer connected to the net. But Don't expect to use it if yer not. There are times when ya wanna be offline to do some system repairs,, Hello Malwarebytes, glad to see ya, did you bring cccleaner with ya?

Good software program. I run windows 7 64 bit, and employ the 64 bit version of course,, I would expect 32 bit version is just as effective. Has it's limitations,but don't they all? My opinion,, worth checking out on the free 30 day trial but inevitably, it is YOU not ME who makes your cash flow decisions,,(thank God). Oh well, until next time,, Peace n the best too all!! many ads to install and I almost thought I had to buy it after I ran the scans, but it did the fix the trojan free afterall.
Summary
This program found a Trojan that had hijacked my internet connection such that I could got a white screen of death. The Trojan was hard to identify and harder to find information about it online. However, HitmanPro Found it and removed it. I ran it in Safe mode where the Trojan did not have control of my internet. re-ran HitmanPro in full windows and the system is clean. I was thrilled to avoid re-installing the operating system!
HitmanPro also found 40 more cookies that other scans ignored. I think this program is meant to supplement other anti-virus programs and it has done a great job for me! Happy customer! -
"CNET version installs adware!"

The program itself is a must have. Great secondary scanner. After installing, program picked up adware from CNET!
Cons
CNET version installs Adware including Yontoo toolbar. Install from Manufacturers' website. CNET needs to better supervise their downloads.
Summary
If HitmanPro had a one-time license fee like Malwarebytes, I would purchase.
