HitmanPro 3 (64-bit) is a second opinion scanner, designed to rescue your computer from malware (viruses, spyware, and rootkits.) that have infected your computer despite all the security measures you have taken (such as anti virus software and firewalls.). Just relying on a single vendor is not sufficient to completely protect you. You do need a second source to make sure you are secure. HitmanPro 3 (64-bit) is designed to work alongside existing security programs without any conflicts. It scans the computer quickly (less than 5 minutes) and does not slow down the computer (except for the few minutes it is scanning). HitmanPro 3 (64-bit) does not need to be installed. It can be run straight from a USB flash drive, a CD or DVD, local or network attached hard drive.
What's new in this version: Version 3.7.6.201 fixes unexpected termination of HitmanPro during remnant scan on computers with FAT32 system volume.

Pros
It works fast and gets the job done.
Cons
It is expensive. You don't buy the program outright; you pay for a subscription. The program is so good I will deal with that.
Summary
I tested this program using a buggy computer a friend asked me to repair. It was so loaded with malware it could barely get out of bed. I found and removed over 40 viruses and other malware, including a phony antivirus that I had to go into the tree to remove. I made a list of everything I found and removed over the course of nearly four hours. Then I hit system restore and restored his computer to it's previous buggy condition. Then I downloaded and ran HitmanPro. It found and removed in ten minutes everything that I had spent the previous four hours removing, and even found some stuff I missed. It is now part of my protection, and every computer that I use automatically runs Hitman on start up.
