CNET Editors' review
Golenfound's Google Maps with GPS Tracker is a small, free application that uploads your GPS position regularly via GPRS or 3G and then automatically updates your position on a Google Map display. You need a GPS device to use it, but you can download and try the GpsGate simulator software free for 14 days. Once you're familiar with Google Maps with GPS Tracker, you can buy a GPS device that suits your needs and configure the program to accept it.
A small, square, tabbed interface opened on the GPS tab, which showed blank fields. The program's Web-based documentation and assistance made the setup a snap. We clicked the Settings button and selected the GPS tab, which let us configure GPS Type, the COM Port on our PC we use to connect our GPS device, the baud rate, and kilometers or miles for distance, as well as choose to log our input. The Garmin Protocol tab lets Garmin GPS users enter their product ID, software version, and other data as well as set the protocol. The Share tab contained a single button that let us share our current location via a Web site. Activating this feature called up a slider that let us configure the time out in minutes. The first time we ran the program, we had to permit access through the Windows firewall and our other security tools, but it opened normally after that, displaying our current location with the usual indicator on a Google Map. Since our movements were within the default GPS radius, we couldn't track them, but Google Maps with GPS Tracker will get a workout on our next trip.
We could also configure Google Maps with GPS Tracker to send GPS data to a wide range of outputs, including system ports, com protocols, and even Google Earth. We tried this last option, which included a setup dialog for configuring Google Earth's settings.

"It doesn't work!"
Version: Google Maps with GPS Tracker 30.0
Pros
I find no positive aspects to this programs performance. It is totally unsupported despite attempts to ask for reimbursement or support.
Cons
Despite obtaining the passkey by purchase tyhe program willl do nothing except try to guide me from NYC to San Francisco. It will not accept my GPS Module wh;;ich works on other programs! Despite requests for a return on my "investment" in this program the company has not deemed fit to do so saying that I haven't set it up correctly where infact there is nothing to "SETUP." There are no instructions w;ith the software and a user is left to his/her own devices to try to fix it. I hartedly DO NOT recomend this program nor this company!
Summary
A poorly written and unsupported piece of software that theoretically has good potential. If it worked like a cell phone it would be worthwhile but it ISN'T.

"Installs a folder and app that you can NOT delete!"
Version: Google Maps with GPS Tracker 28.0
Pros
Well, lets see. The program ran very slowly, and won't uninstall. So... No"pros" I can think of.
Cons
Even if the program was perfect and fantastic, The product installs a Folder, and application that you can NOT delete! I tells me that I don't have permission to do so.
Who cares what it does if it won't let you control your own computer!?Summary
Don't Get it.

"It doesn't work and it isn't free! Epic failure"
Version: Google Maps with GPS Tracker 26.0
Pros
Download is free. I just hope the uninstall is too!
Cons
It does not work. It is $25, not free. It blows up on my HP notebook with built in GPS, even when I set the software to match my built in iQue M5 GPS.
Summary
It doesn't work. My GPS on my Windows 7 HP notebook works. I can see my position. The $25 plus $5 for map is just not worth it. I got a whole Garmin GPS for $60. When I try to use it, it tosses major errors and fails. Horribly disappointing.
