  Pros

  Allows you to do basic editing.

  Cons

  Within 10 minutes of using this product: <p>-I found that I could not adjust the margins -When doing two seperate numbered lists, the second one continued at the number that the first one left off <p>-The header and footer appears on all pages. <p> <p>This product may look alright at first glance, but when you try to use it seriously, it just flat out sucks.

  Pros

  On its own merits, discounting compatibility with MS Office, Gobe Productive for Windows is a good program, both fast and tightly integrated. It's generous licensing scheme (install on all of your personal computers and one copy on your work computer) is fabulous.

  Cons

  This is a product that is more competitive with MS Works or AppleWorks than MS Office. That is not bad in and of itself; in that category it does quite well as far as features, integration, and reliability. The asking price of $49.95 is very steep for a product of that calibur however. Productive's biggest problem is that it suffers from neglect. It was last updated in 2003 and I am tempted to think that it is or soon will be abandonware. Unless Gobe either dramatically lowers the price to around the $20 range or they update the product I would suggest you save up a little more and purchase StarOffice 8 instead. The only circumstance where I would recommend Gobe Productive for Windows today is if you have a major investment in BeOS/Gobe Productive for BeOS and have not been able to migrate to another platform yet.
