"Too Much Manual Work"
Version: Free WMA to MP3 Converter 1.16
Pros
Does convert files smoothly - easy interface
Cons
Does NOT copy CODECs info over, in spite of claims. You have to manually type in album names, artists, etcetera.
Summary
I have a ton of WMA files. i-Pod converts very inefficiently into huge files. Spend $20 and buy the nch Switch Sound File Converter (use their free trial; it will convince you it's worth the investment). Trying to find something "free," I downloaded mp3/wma/ogg converter and got slammed with malware; that cost me plenty. At least this product by Jodix didn't slam malware down your pipes.

"Useful, usable"
Version: Free WMA to MP3 Converter 1.16
Pros
Easy to use, intuitive, has a confortable feeling. It does all I need from it and it's free. It's the only REALLY free application I've found to convert ASF to other formats.
Cons
When you need to cancel a conversion, it enters in an infinite loop and doesn't close the conversion window, so you must exit the program and restart it.
Summary
It's ideally adapted for your needs if they are like mine: simple.

Cons
NO cons at this time.
Summary
Wonderful product

"Good basic conversion program"
Version: Free WMA to MP3 Converter 1.16
Pros
Provides all the basic file manager functions and seems to provide an adequate output. I am not a sound guru but the resulting quality is fine for me and my mobile stuff.
Cons
Would be nice if there was an option to propogate the album title and artist into all selected songs since many of the default media players seems to operate off of the internal meta data. I was able to overecome this by finding a media player that works more off the file structure (folder names). Otherwise to have to input the artist and album title into EACH song converted. Of course I could be doing something wrong too.
Summary
I will continue to use it since my primary song library was loaded by Windows Media Player and my mobile devices for now only accept .MP3's

"simple no-frill convertor"
Version: Free WMA to MP3 Converter 1.16
Pros
Very SIMPLE and easy to use. For making MP3s it is perfect.
Sometimes that's all you need, not a whole sound studio with bells and whistles.
Sound quality on the converted music is great.Cons
Best to skip the sneaky 'add ons' that appear as 'opt out' check boxes on step 2 of the installer. If you hurry and don't notice the check boxes (you need to uncheck them) you wind up with all sorts of buggy stuff.
Summary
An infection-free file that does its job. Easy to use.

"Mediocre converter"
Version: Free WMA to MP3 Converter 1.16
Pros
Converts ripped music quickly
No adsCons
User interface doesn't allow tabbing
The option to copy all properties (such as artist and album name) to all songs for the same conversion DOES NOT WORK. You have to manually edit all but the first song to add artist and album name.
When done converting an album, each song has to be removed from the task list individually -- cannot multi-select or remove all.Summary
It's OK for being free, but the cons outweigh the pros. I'll be on the look out for a different converter. The functionality seems to be decent, but the user interface is very poor.

"Infected malware"
Version: Free WMA to MP3 Converter 1.16
Pros
None......
Cons
AVG Free detected unruly behaviour, deleted the file as well as a registry entry upon trying to execute it. All I saw was Win XP asking med "Trust this?" and then AVG intervened.
Summary
Don't dare. Shame on CNET, which I thought was a trusted source!?

"malware infected, hijacked my homepage"
Version: Free WMA to MP3 Converter 1.16
Pros
Am too busy removing the junk ''Incredimail' that piggy backed in on this download to have tried the Jodix prog. As Incredimail infected my laptop with over 125 folders, almost 800 files & approx 2200 registry keys this may take a while.
Cons
Incredimail installed itself along with Jodix MP3 prog. It hijacked my browser, tried to regisster itself (stopped by commodo) and added itself to my start menu. I thought CNET was safe from this kind of S**T? Shame on you CNET for allowing this junk
Summary
Unless you want to spend hours forensically searching through your registry removing the entries left by the free add on programme (i.e virus) that piggy backs in on the jodix download avoid this. I thought the whole point of CNET was to that downloads were safe and trusted. I will never trust CNET again.

"does not work with Windows 7"
Version: Free WMA to MP3 Converter 1.16
Pros
could not get program to work
Cons
Does not work with Windows 7. Asks for Direct X 8.1 or higher however I have Direct X 11 installed.
Summary
Useless

"Works great, free, and from CNET, what's not to like"
Version: Free WMA to MP3 Converter 1.16
Pros
Does what it says, converts WMA files to MP3 files, does it easily and can even convert video, although I haven't used it for this.
Cons
None. No issues here. I have a pretty hopped up setup with all the bells and whistles though so maybe this is why.
Summary
If you want a free WMA to MP3 converter from a trusted source (CNET) that does the job easily and without issues then this is the program for you. I highly recommend it.
