Free PDF to Word Converter shares many things in common with its competitors besides a similar name. There are some useful features here that try to address the various needs and permutations of PDFs, but it struggles to get a final output that looks perfect.
There's no drag-and-drop support, but the program can batch-convert PDFs without being restricted to specific folders. You can also customize your output folder, and choose a destination format in RTF or DOC. There's support for high levels of security, with space to provide passwords from the PDF owner and the PDF user. You can remove graphics on conversion and micro-manage the spaces between words and text boxes. Free PDF to Word Converter smoothly handles specific page range conversions, too.
It doesn't fail outright on its final output, but be prepared for some minor yet annoying formatting errors, with occasional and minor word and image overlap. Keeping this in mind, Free PDF to Word Converter is still a decent and stable converter that's worth playing with--especially if you don't have any images in your source PDF.

Sorry, no pros - didn't get that far.

Claims that the converter is free, however, you must decline other offers, which isn't so bad. What's bad is that you are required to enter a serial number and to make a purchase. Clicking "OK" doesn't work, seems like the only option is to click "Buy Now" and enter the serial number that's emailed to you. My clicking on the convert button didn't failed because I hadn't entered a serial number.

I uninstalled the so-called free software and recommend they change their approach.

Poor user interface, even for freeware. I uninstalled it after just one use. It was so bad that I blocked it out of my mind and couldn't even you any specifics about it. I read that another user is claiming Malware. Not I did not experience that at all, but maybe that thanks to Norton Internet Security, I don't know. It would be better classified as junkware, as another user said.

It installs malware on the PC, primarily as an IE plug-in the spams ads everytime you visit a site. It changes the browser's home page. It installs a spamware toolbar for the browser.Summary

NO PROS WHATSOEVER.

The Convert to OCR text within a PDF file works only if there are absolutely nothing on the page that can be construed as an alphanumeric character but usually all but destroys any line graphic image to unrecognizable.
Works some of the time on an ABSOLUTELY clean TEXT ONLY PDF page/file when converting to Word. If there are any extraneous characters created by the OCR, usually from line art images, these extraneous characters ruin both the word placement on the page and pagination.Summary
While I have to reluctantly agree this is possibly the best PDF converter application on the market, it is only to place it at the top of the FAILED just about all test for a truly professional application of use. While the OCR in PDF format works most of the time, it still has serious drawbacks in regards to images in a document and the conversion to WORD is so inept for use on Macs causing it to be absolutely unusable for any practical purposes.

I tried to convert 10 word files, it produced crap. Many characters were lost, completely unreadable.
