Free PDF to Word Converter's name describes the program: It takes your PDF files and converts them into Word-compatible DOC or Rich Text files. While it's fairly easy to use and does a fairly good job, some awkward controls and other issues dim its appeal. Better tools aren't in short supply, either.
Free PDF to Word Converter's user interface isn't elaborate, and the program explains each feature and each step, though it does make for a busy look. The main controls are listed under General Options, which is a bit confusing, though clicking Files and Folders didn't access any options or settings but the Add PDF Document and Output File Format controls. However, under Security, we could set Owner and User passwords as well as page range. The Character Position Options let us select Spaces, which keeps the Word document's text layout the same as the PDF's; or Text Box, which uses Word text boxes to retain the text and graphics format for printing brochures and similar graphics-oriented documents. Under Graphics Options, we could check boxes to delete all graphics or pictures.
There's some clunkiness to Free PDF to Word Converter. The Add Files tool only looks for PDFs and wouldn't let us browse to a desktop shortcut to access our archive folder; we had to take the long way. More than once, Free PDF to Word Converter crashed when we added files. In fact, it crashed every time we tried to select a different destination folder from the source folder for converted files. But we did manage to get it to load a multipage PDF file for conversion to the same folder. We could choose DOC or RTF; we selected DOC and pressed Start Convert. A pop-up nag asked us to buy the program and enter a to-be-provided serial number within minutes, but we clicked Ignore. The pop-up didn't prevent the tool from converting our file, which we could open, edit, and save in Word. It doesn't cost anything to try Free PDF to Word Converter, but other freeware does as good a job as it, or better. So keep looking.

None. What is not disclosed is that the as a user, I was asked to consider other affiliates (pay for click compensation for the "free" download?) before the download is initiated.
Cons
The interface is terrible. After realizing what I was into, I quickly uninstalled the product. However, it embedded a search engine in Firefox, Internet Explorer and Google blocked it. I had to uninstall and re-install Firefox three times, and reset the settings on IE after utilizing the uninstall feature of the Control Panel to locate and uninstall all features of the product. Then, to be sure I used Advanced System Care to check for needed repairs. No additional problems were found.
Summary
As a student working toward a doctorate, this "free" product cost me valuable time. The time wasted with this products could have been saved and more productive had I used (which I will now) Adobe's online PDF converter for $19.99 per year.

When I tried to use it immediately asked for a key. Free to download does not mean free. Plus it installed this sweetpacks crap (changed my page and added a toolbar) even though I never seen it in the offers list and could not decline it. NOT MALEWARE FREE AND NOT FREE TO USE, ONLY FREE TO DOWNLOAD!

Summary
One big image file? Really, that's all I got. The program simply converted the entire pdf into an image, and inserted that image into a Word file. I did not get a single character of editable text. Perhaps it might do better if it had a cleaner pdf to work with, but for this job it was utterly useless.

Claims that the converter is free, however, you must decline other offers, which isn't so bad. What's bad is that you are required to enter a serial number and to make a purchase. Clicking "OK" doesn't work, seems like the only option is to click "Buy Now" and enter the serial number that's emailed to you. My clicking on the convert button didn't failed because I hadn't entered a serial number.

I uninstalled the so-called free software and recommend they change their approach.
