Publisher's Description
From Beepa:
Fraps is a universal Windows application that can be used with games using DirectX or OpenGL graphic technology. In its current form, it performs many tasks, including benchmarking screen capturing (take a screenshot with the press of one key, with no need to paste into a paint program every time you want to capture; your screen captures also are automatically named and time-stamped) and real-time video capturing (record audio and video while playing your favorite game at up to 1,024x768 resolution at 30 frames per second).
What's new in this version: Version 3.4.7 fixed issues where recording rate being locked to a low multiple when Vsync enabled, unlocked recording speed after temporary slowdowns, and Alt key interference with VMware/remote desktop applications.

"Conflicts in newer versions"
Version: Fraps 3.4.7
Pros
Strong game footage recorder
Cons
Has some conflicts that cause certain games to lag even when you're NOT recording.
Unregistered version has a 30-second recording time limit. -
"Records your finest moments of gameplay!"
Version: Fraps 3.4.7
Pros
Records with very little affect on the game's video display. Plus it records all sound.
Cons
The trial version only records for 30 seconds at a time. In my opinion, the price of the full version is too high, unless you're a dedicated gamer who likes to record everything they ever play :-;
My Windows Media Player doesn't play sound on the Fraps recordings, but does when they're converted to WMV format (but that's probably WMP not having the right codecs).Summary
The best on-screen video recorder I've found so far. If you don't want to pay for the full version of Fraps, you can use the trial version of Fraps to record your favourite game, in a series of 30 second clips, then edit them all together as a kind of highlight video.
