There has been an explosion of photo-editing apps out there, each with its own schtick. FotoRus is another contender. It offers basic editing tools and also versions of a few others that set it apart from the rest.

We greatly appreciated FotoRus' simple and straightforward navigation. The app's main menu displays large, easy-to-read buttons for the photo-editing tools. From there, you can perform basic photo-editing tasks using the Pro Edit tool. For quirky effects, you'll want to check out the Collage, Animegram, and Pic-in-Pic tools. We selected a photo from our camera roll and, while in Pro Edit, we were able to easily crop, rotate, brighten, and apply a filter to our photo with the tap of a finger.

Moving on, the Collage tool let us select up to five photos to arrange into a fun collage. We could drag the photo around for placement, as well as select from a variety of templates. The Animegram is an especially fun feature that turns a simple photo into a fun, animated display. Simply select an arrow from the menu and use your finger to draw on the picture. The arrow dictates which direction the section will move, or jiggle. FotoRus also has a GIF tool that lets you add effects to any video you've taken on your iPhone and save it as a GIF for sharing with friends on Facebook, Twitter, or through e-mail. Should you need it, help is available via labels on the screen that point where to go and what to swipe.

FotoRus is an easy-to-use photo-editing tool that will appeal to users of all levels. We highly recommend it.
