All things considered, this application makes a capable image converter and editor. FotoBatch's tabbed interface shouldn't confuse most users, with sections for batch-converting shots, editing images, making slide shows, and creating PDFs from pictures. We like the large preview window and the ability to easily undo edits. The program can batch-convert files among a number of popular image formats such as BMP, JPEG, GIF, PNG, ICO, and TGA. Besides that, this utility offers a decent set of tools for tweaking your images, including tools for blur, sharpness, and saturation. You'll also find effects such as emboss, spray, and mosaic. We appreciate the inclusion of a screen-capture utility, which lets you grab any area of the screen using movable lines. Once you've done that, the program will automatically open the image and allow you to edit or convert it. FotoBatch's rather strong feature set should satisfy most shutterbugs who don't need a full-blown design suite.
