CNET Editors' review
Form Auto Fill provides a great tool for saving time when filling out repetitive fields online. Though its functionality ultimately won out, it took a little head-scratching to navigate a few bumps in the road.
Form Auto Fill's interface is stark and feels intuitive at first. However, after a few minutes of unsuccessfully setting up our autofill options, things were obviously more complicated than we'd imagined. Luckily, the step-by-step Help file leads users through the operational basics. The program is actually pretty simple to use: a hot-key combination records all fillable fields on a Web site. It creates a permanent record that lets you not only open that page in the future, but also have its data automatically filled in. This seems like a great alternative for users who don't like saving passwords, usernames, and personal data online for fear of hackers. However, the program wouldn't function properly without Internet Explorer as the default browser, which is bad news for Firefox and Chrome users. Form Auto Fill also offers a Lock feature that encrypts all the data so it can't fall into the wrong hands. This program has some troublesome flaws, but it ultimately saves time and effort.
Form Auto Fill has a 15-day trial. It installs desktop icons without permission and leaves folders behind after it's uninstalled. Once you get past its few quirks, it's a useful program that we recommend.

"Very difficult to import data f- no phone support"
Version: Form Auto Fill 3.2
Pros
Easy save of original "boilerplate" data
Cons
No phone support at ANY price. I would have gladly paid handsomely to have someone talk me through a data import from Excel, but they insist on only providing free email support. HELP!!!
Summary
Program was great for "boilerplate" fill ins - that's where I have to input the same data in every report. There, it works great! A couple of clicks and all that same generic data is filled into my online appraisal forms. Problem is most of the data I have to fill in changes in every report (which probably explains why I get paid to do this work). So, I have the data generated by an Excel spreadsheet. They claim it will "easily" go from my CSV spreadsheet file into my online form. Great, that would save about 15 minutes of typing - problem is I can't get it to work. I begged them for help, which I'd pay for, if I could just talk to someone who knew how to help me. Nope, they only offer help via email, and without the interactive help via phone or "live chat", there is no way I'm going to get the program to do what it's supposed to. So if you just need some quick, short static data fill-ins, it'll probably be OK, if you need serious form filling of changing data, forget it.
However, if any can help me run this program, please let me know at me@castleandbrookes.com Thanks.
