• Very elegant looking: a virtually useless application.

  Pros

  Pretty and unusual; visually fun to play with for the first 10 minutes of ownership. Useful to see what fonts look like, as are most other font apps.

  Cons

  I have a version 2.1.4 on my iMac (created 15-12-2012 8:23) but the website says 2.1.3.1 is the latest available (created 15-12-2012 8:32): i.e. my non-existent version is 1 second newer. For support I tried to get the facts on it from "Support", and found plenty of FAQs which did not answer the question but could find no way to talk to a human being; no matter whether elegant or not I would have loved be able to talk to one! A total waste of time and the expensive purchase price.

  Summary

  It lies unused in my App folder. Stay clear and buy a few coffees or beers with the purchase price, but wait until the software actually does something useful before wasting money on it.

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Fontcase is excellent for browsing, previewing and organising fonts. It may not meet the needs of professionals, but many ordinary users have hundreds of fonts installed. Fontcase will help them make the most of those fonts. If it works internally using Apple's own mechanisms, so much the better!
