"FM used to be the best email system - sadly no longer."

Pros
Fastmail used to be simple, extremely fast, packed with totally common sense features that made managing e mail smooth and easy.
Fastmail was purchased by Opera and on the 30th Oct 2012, totally unannounced, Opera sprang a complete system change on it's users.
Opera have created a two tier system with a classic view which seeks to retain some of the features of the old system (But is not the old system) and a new interface which is astonishingly regressive dismissing all the features which made FM unique replacing them with features that can be found in any free e mail offering.Cons
Opera have packaged up the best unique features of fastmail removed them from the new interface.
The new interface is very busy and cluttered with unnecessary nesting of messages and a revolting colour scheme. The smooth easy intuitive interface has been replaced with a difficult non intuitive interface which has added nothing to the usability of the system and resulted in the loss of all the common sense features that made FM stand out from the crowd.Summary
Fastmail used to be absolutely brilliant and was well worth paying a premium to use its unique advance features, which I have done for many years, and have recommended many people to use this system.
I think it is important for potential users to note that the Fastmail that was has gone (And will be greatly missed).
