Express Scribe is a transcription audio player for Mac, specifically designed for typists and transcriptionist with many time saving features including foot pedal control, variable speed playback, speech to text engine integration, and support for a wide variety of audio and encrypted dictation file formats including wav, mp3, dct, ds2. Audio recording can be loaded automatically from email, FTP, over a local computer network or through the Express Delegate transcription workflow management program. Transcriptionists using Express Scribe can control audio playback with either a foot pedal, or keyboard shortcuts. Use of a foot pedal can significantly increase your words per minute, by controlling the audio playback with your feet your hands are left free to type. No matter which method is used Scribe takes a minimum amount of screen space, and can essentially run in background while you type directly into the word-processor of your choice. The free version of Express Scribe supports most common audio formats including wav, mp3, wma, aif and dct and does not expire. You will need the professional version for playing proprietary formats including ds2, mvf and video file transcription.
