Express Scribe is a transcription audio player specifically designed for typists and transcriptionist complete with time saving features including foot pedal control, variable speed playback, speech to text engine integration, and support for a wide variety of audio/encrypted dictation file formats including wav, mp3, wma, dct, dss, ds2 and more. Video files can also be loaded into Express Scribe, ideal for typing video transcripts or transcribing conferences. Audio recording can be loaded automatically from email, FTP, over a local computer network or through the Express Delegate transcription workflow management program. Transcriptionists using Express Scribe can control audio playback with either a foot pedal, or keyboard shortcuts. Use of a foot pedal can significantly increase your words per minute, by controlling the audio playback with your feet your hands are left free to type. No matter which method is used Scribe takes a minimum amount of screen space, and can essentially run in background while you type directly into the word-processor of your choice.
