I AM REALLY P****D OFF!!! After playing the original two Monkeys on a friends computer I was was really looking forward to playing this. Yet it took 11 (yes, 11!!!) hours to download, and it doesn't even work, it says there is some sort of error!!! What a complete waste of time!!! I am really unhappy and won't be using Cnet again

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I love the monkey Island series; 1, 2 and 3 were all great. Which is exactly why I am so appalled by the presentation of 4. The interface and controls are terrible and to further point that out monkey island won't even work with my gamepad (Macally iShock) which i only need because of the terrible interface. While the input sprocket system works great in OS9 It just plain doesn't work in OSX or classic. Which brings me to another point, OSX compatibility. Why wouldn't any application produced in the last two years be carbonized? Sure, it runs under classic, but in the 3 hours I've played the game it's crashed classic twice! So to summarize my opinion, this game is barely playable under OSX. That said, the actual gameplay is excellent, as witty and fun as the first three. Great job LucasArts. My only problem is the Mac port (this could be the fault of LucasArts or Aspyr, but my money's on Aspyr).

This demo SUCKS! Who wants to spend hours downloading a 115MB RPG Demo?? Most RPGs are okay, but for the limited amount of game play there is in the demo, it just isn't worth your time.

Who ever said it would take them 11+ hours has a really slow computer...took me bo0ut a half hour and it was worth it. Really nice smooth game. A nice break from playing Mechwarrior.
