This advanced application effectively backs up and restores your system and files, but is not designed to recover drives from hardware failure. Eaz-Fix Professional has a pleasing and well-organized interface. Upon installation this application creates a snapshot map of your hard drive. Warning: this is not backup software and a drive failure also would lose all snapshots. You are required to schedule or manually create additional snapshots as you add, delete, or change files. You then can easily restore your system to any selected snapshot. The power of Eaz-Fix is its ability to easily recover specific files and folders from your snapshots. Find your file using a simple search screen and either overwrite the current version or save in a new location. However, the ability to save snapshots to an external or networked drive is not available. Despite its name Eaz-Fix Professional is geared toward home and small business users. Users of all levels will find this application easy to operate and useful.

I had my doubts that it would be as simple as stated, but it was a cinch. It worked exactly as stated and I had to problems.
Cons
There are none. If your computer is up-to-snuff, you'll be glad to have this piece-of-mind product on your computer. I have the 9.1 version and it rocks.
Summary
Get the lasted version of this product and test it for your self if you have any doubts. Clean your computer and it registry and defrag with a good defrag program other than Windows' version. That way you should not experience any problems.

THAT IT'S NOT PART OF WINDOWS 7 - MICROSOFT SHOULD SWAP IT'S SYSTEM RESTORE FOR THIS PRODUCT. THE DEFRAG ON BOOTUP SOMETIMES TAKES A BIT OF TIME - BUT IS WORTH IT.
Summary
I have installed on over 100 computers. The only explanation for the 1 stars above is incompetence. I can duplicate the issues they raise by not installing the program correctly or installing on a very fragmented drive. EAZ tells you that this is not to replace doing normal backups.....this is a convienient way to "time-shift" your computer. That said, I have a little over 100 installations and each of them are running correctly. When I have had to uninstall the program, it has not had any problem. TO THE POINT.....in a "Blue Screen" situation, you just hit the home key on boot, pick one of the snapshots to rollback to and in minutes the system has gone back in time, as advertised - NO PROBLEM. In our company we have created a log of each PC where we have done this. In 2 years we have done 277 complete Rollbacks. In 268 instances the snapshot rolled back with no problems. In 9 instances, we had to pick an earlier snapshot, usually the one immediately before or the one that was 2 snapshots before. The other PHENOMINAL feature that has been EXTREMELY valuable is the ability to recover at the file level INSTANTLY. There is an option when you bring up the EAZ Console to Recover a file. What we like the most is that the product gives you a few different ways to find the file including mounting a VIRTUAL image of the hard drive at a specific SNAPSHOT time, so you can simply use Windows Explorer to locate the file......you can look at it at that point in time and recover it or dismount the VIRTUAL Drive and try another. We have used this over 500 times in 2 years , because we create hundreds of documents a day - this has been a lifesaver, and has saved the tedious and expensive task of going thru daily server based backups trying to find a needle in a haystack off of a tape. I
I just want to end this and say to ANYONE who reads this - listen to those IDIOTS who gave this a horrible review and you will pass by an incredible tool or LISTEN to sane competent people like myself and many others out there have proven works EXTREMELY well. I mean just look at the CNET editors rating along with what I'm telling you and you can't go wrong - best of luck !!!! -

it can be a bit confusing if you dont have some technical knowledge of computers.
Summary
We use this software on 50 laptops for check out. they come back and we hit one key and everything is back to the way it was before we loaned it out.
my suggestion is start on a new OS base. Meaning if you have your system a while redo it from scratch, if you are non-technical find someone who is that can help you rebuild once you do this: you are good.
the only draw back would be if there was a hard drive failure everything then would die. -

I forced six crashes by seriously messing up the registry big time...Eaz-Fix restored every one perfectly first time! Does exactly as it promises but I would hesitate to recommend it to new PC users who are new to O/S management!

As with all apps of this type, users should read the Docs first.Those who reported that Eaz-Fix" MESSES WITH THEIR DEFRAG" should have read the user docs which clearly states that this program will not take kindly to third party defraggers !
Summary
Cannot fully agree with the program developers claim that the program is easy to use.It is very easy for those with a little "savvy" but novices should be wary of the applications inability to integrate with third party defraggers etc; Acronis True Image users will have to keep a watch also but on the whole I found this a useful application

Since the first time I installed this program it filled my hdd with its snapshots and real problem started when I wanted to defrag my hdd because it got slower. Windows defrag program went crazy, after the message from Eaz Fix I tried to defrag the snapshots first from the program itself but it fulled my hdd. There were no spaces and nothing could be done. I uninstalled the program and chose the latest (today's) snapshot to set the computer after uninstalling but it KILLED my system. At booting I see Eaz Fix wallpaper but nothing happens, other operating systems (windows too) can't read the hdd. After using chkdsk files are readable but when I try to boot from hdd same thing happens.
Publishers of this program should be punished.

It fixed problems whenever I turned on my computer. I guess that's great, right?

It would not allow me to use my defrag system utility unless I uninstalled this first. Unfortunately it would not allow me to uninstall it. When I tried to I would get one of those messages saying that to do so would keep other programs from working or that one of it's files were in use with another program. Therefore my hard drive became overfragged and I had to reformat and reinstall my operating system. There was no other way. I didn't have room enough to do anything else. It was horrible. Don't use this.

NEITHER OF THE PROGRAM'S UNINSTALLERS WORK CORRECTLY. INSTEAD THE WINDOWS ONE TRIES TO GET YOU TO DELETE A SNAPSHOT IF YOU USE IT, THAT IS NOT UNINSTALLATION! AND THE BOOT UP ONE DOES NOT WORK RIGHT EITHER.
WHEN I PRESSED THE OPTION TO UNINSTALL ITSELF FROM THE BOOT MENU GUESS WHAT?????? IT DELETED DAYS WORTH OF WORK AND RESTORED ONE OF THE SNAPSHOTS. NOW PLEASE DO EXPLAIN EAZFIX HOW THAT IS UNINSTALLATION!!!???
HERE'S WHAT I LOST:
(1) DOZENS OF DOWNLOADS FROM WINAMP.COM AND OTHERS FOR LITESTEP AND WINDOWS THEMES, WHICH I SPENT HOURS LOOKING THROUGH AND DOWNLOADING.
(2) MY CAREFULLY RIGOROUSLY ADJUST COMPUTER (LIKE GETTING RID OFF TROJANS, VIRUSES, ANNOYING THINGS LIKE MESSENGERS PERSISTANTLY BOOTING UP, REGISTRY ERRORS AND SO ON) WERE ALL GONE, IT ALL VERTED BACK TO HELL. I HAD EVEN GOTTEN RID OF WINDOWS SECURITY CENTER AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AND THAT HELLISH ANNOYANCE WAS BACK.
(3) FOR FIREFOX I LOST: MANY BOOKMARKS, ALL MY PREVIOUS SESSIONS, MY HISTORY, MY PLUGINS AND THEMES (AND THAT TOOK HOURS OF LOOKING FOR AND MAKING).
(4) I LOST PICTURES AND WEBSITES AND NOTES INCLUDING THREE PAINSTAKINGLY WRITTEN SONGS ON MY DESKTOP, ONES I WROTE THAT WERE PROFITABLE.
It also corrupted TWO of my file sharers. Now how am I going to get that all back?
Are you EAZFIX going to at least pay me for this great solutions?
Let people uninstall the program from windows, DONT FORCE IT ON THEM BY MAKING A DUD UNINSTALLATION PROGRAM. THANKS, LET THEM BE ABLE TO DISABLE IT, LET IT LET YOU TAKE A SNAPSHOT BEFORE IT EXPIRES, LET IT WARN YOU BEFORE IT EXPIRES GIVING YOU A GOOD AMOUNT OF TIME TO MAKE A SNAPSHOT.
LETS SEE IF THEY PAY ME BACK FOR THIS DAMAGE.

I am an ex-goback user. I used goback3 since 2003, it was a must have, it saved my behind my times. Then I installed goback4 after I got a new PC, the software bombed my PC right after the installation and I couldn't get version 3 installed on the new PC. After using goback3 for years, I am so used to a softare like that on my system. I was feeling naked without it. Then I found this software, tried it and boght it at the end of the week. It does everything it claims it does, and it's even better than the Goback3. I am glad I have found it.
Cons
The software is not well documented, I keep on finding out new tricks and new things about the program.

I'm always trying new software. At work I test for conflicts, new products and cool stuff. Even though I use the uninstall to remove programs about every 3 months I need to reload my OS because it gets unstable from all the software installs. With EAZ-FIX installed I take a snapshot right before I install the new test software and restore to that snapshot when I'm done testing. It removes everything, registry changes, software, icons, everything. Its faster that uninstall too. I've been using EAZ-FIX for about 9 months and have not reloaded my system once yet. My computer is still is stable and fast. If your like me, the famly IT guy (heh) my cousins are always calling me with their computer problems. One of my cousins had so many viruses and spyware on her computer it took me a day and a half to clean it up. I had her buy EAZ-FIX and the next time her computer messed up I was able to fix it using EAZ-FIX over the phone in about 10 minutes. Wow what a time saver. The best part is I never need to sweat a virus attack, or a bad update. With EAZ-FIX anything that makes it through my anti virus gets erased with a couple of key strokes and a restart. Sweet!
