"I've used this product for years."
Version: Easy Hi-Q Recorder 2.4
Pros
Love it. Rick answered my questions personally when I got confused, but it's a very user friendly and rock steady program.
Cons
Occasionally your computer will update itself, or get confused and this program snaps right back after you restart, with Windows Vista.
Summary
Don't know about any others, but I've never been sorry. Wish i could find a video capture that's this good.

"Works Great on Windows 7 64-bit"
Version: Easy Hi-Q Recorder 2.4
Pros
Worth every Penney -- records everything coming through the sound card.
Cons
Have to change some recording adjustments each time program is used, but worth the effort.
Summary
Use the fix suggested on the Roemer software website to have Windows 7 recognize program. I adjusted my recording device section to recognize "stereo mix" as the default recorder and Hi-Q worked from thereon.
-
"a really useful utility"
Version: Easy Hi-Q Recorder 2.4
Pros
You buy a licence registration code once and can download it any number of times. This allows you to record any length of audio. Great for making MP3's. Sound recording quality is excellent. You record whatever your computer audio outputs.
Cons
Can be a bit quirky to set up and get recording levels correct. (Read help files first.) If you set up to record using audio jack out and microphone in you have to replug speakers to listen to recording. (An audio splitter gives audio feed back.)
Summary
Well worth the licence fee. It looks neat in a corner of the desktop. Puts recorded files in a fold of your choice. Certainly to be recommended.

"Simple, stable, effective"
Version: Easy Hi-Q Recorder 2.4
Pros
Easiest to operate of ALL those I've tested. The "Free" version WORKS, but is limited. Registering the "Easy" version opens a great set of options - and unlimited recording length. I've foud the audio fidelity to be *excellent*
Cons
Must be careful in specifying "where to save". Would LOVE to have a "burn to disc" feature
Summary
Stability, "Record at specific signal strength", WIDE variety of Quality levels, Scheduled recording.
-
"It functions - but with the POOREST QUALITY SOUND."
Version: Easy Hi-Q Recorder 2.4
Pros
If this product had ANY QUALITY OF SOUND, it would be highly rated. It is sophisticated and easy to use. You can record at different bitrates; set up a scheduled recording time or record manually; name the path and the file.
Cons
But what good are the Pros when the resultant sound is HORRIBLE. Think of a recording at your lowest bitrate played back on your highest treble setting. That's what your music recordings sound like - TIN! There is NO BASS at all. A WASTE OF $.
Summary
I reiterate: The resultant sound is HORRIBLE. Think of a recording at your lowest bitrate played back on your highest treble setting. That's what your music recordings sound like - TIN! There is NO BASS at all. A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY! And they really don't give you enough "free trial" to be able to assess the capabilities (in this case the INcapabilities) of the product. A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY.

"does it job well, easy to use"
Version: Easy Hi-Q Recorder 2.4
Pros
Captures any audio you can hear on computer, places the file where you want it and reproduces the sound very well.
Cons
No way I know of to put a name on the audio unless you write it down when it is recorded. Hard to identify file later.
