CNET Editors' review
EarthView offers a look at the globe in real time. With simple controls and a crystal-clear satellite view, this is a fun addition to any desktop or screensaver.
EarthView's interface is a user-friendly affair that allows you to customize your view of the globe. Controls are unmistakable and fun to tinker with. In addition, there is a Help file for anyone still feeling confused about this basic program. Viewing Earth is not difficult, but choosing which view may be a little more work. The program's controls provide simple access to the entire globe. Clicking a few buttons will easily add or remove clouds from view, as well as show the city lights in parts of the world that are dark from night. You can apply this view as wallpaper or as a screensaver by cycling through various tabs and settings. No matter what you choose, the end result is a sharp image of our Earth from space. The program provided two special features that allow you to more fully customize the program. Using a slider allows the view to change from the entire planet to a specific continent, which was simple and fun. Additionally, you can adjust how quickly the view is updated, to provide a real-time glimpse of the globe.
You have 14 days to try out the program. With its easy controls and sharp view of the planet, EarthView is a fun program for anyone who wants their head in the clouds.

"unique real-time world clock"
Version: EarthView 3.12.6
Pros
Serves as a unique "realtime" world clock and current events display on desktop background, along with screensaver feature. Lots of customization available. Clouds can be updated - via paid subscription, as desired.
Cons
Haven't yet found anything I don't like about this product, except the clouds subscription is a little pricey.

"OUt to Lunch"
Version: EarthView 3.5
Pros
I really thought this would be something in the area of Goole earth or the Euphoric NASA "World WIND" 2 Stars come from being hard pressed to have a program like this that tanks recources. To the Dweeb that commented on someones earlier post> I have a new AMD 64x2 so on and so forth, runs fine LIKE YOUR BABY,(but keep downloading heavy programs and run em alll at once) Looks really good, well it is workable, it is not user friendly like World Wind or Google earth
Cons
Some day later I will try again.
-
"not really that great"
Version: EarthView 3.5
Pros
fairly easy to use.
Cons
resource hog. poor picture quality.
-
"It maybe cool but..."
Version: EarthView 3.5
Pros
Yet another good Earth view. For those who is a fan of such kind of programs.
Cons
First, there is a *very* complicated interface. I just can't understand it... Second, it requires too much of system resources. I think any desktop enhancement should have extremely clear interface and work well on any machine.

"Seeing is believing"
Version: EarthView 3.3.1
Pros
There is a lot of softwares offer the same solution but EarthView will give you an extra eye candy in customization and details.
Note: subscribing to the clouds service makes it perfect !
Cons
To unleash detailed satellite maps and real-time clouds, you must register the software.
