  Fast, easy to use, flexible, very responsive Dev, has a "dry run" feature that allows the user to double-check before nuking something.

  Cons

  A bit spendy.

  Summary

  I wrote a nice big commentary here, but my script filter prevented a script necessary to get this to work. Basically, iTunes creates a lot of garbage files because it often loses libraries, especially ones that are stored on different drive, like a Network Attached Server in my case. That quickly creates enormous collections of duplicate and dead files. Fixing the mess takes many hours to straighten out, and I feel queasy when I think of doing it without the help of this great app, Dupin.

  Found and removed my dupes, as well as dead tracks.

  Cons

  Took hours to run against an iTunes library of 26,000 items (half just dead tracks). Failed to re-create playlists as advertised.

  Does the basics, but there are better and cheaper options out there.

  Pros

  Easy to use, great quick start demo on website Effective, removed over 6000 dupes from my itunes account $15, can't go wrong. Saved hours and hours of work

  Frequentluy freezes even when dealing with a relatively small number of songs (100-200); counter-intuitive; 'help' instructions incorrect; generally frustrating and fails to deliver.

  Best avoided unless small library (but then why would you need this software?)

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Dupin fails to remove duplicate tracks, is very very slow, seems to be confused when you click on purge and have de-selected the duplicate tracks you want to be removed. Doesn't do anything after saying purging for hours.

This software found and eliminated them immediately. The time it saved me was worth the cost of the app. I won't need if often, but I got my value out of it on the first use.

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I have a very large iTunes library, in excess of 17,000 tracks, and inevitably there are going to be duplications. Dupin makes it ridiculously easy to isolate and remove such dupes, best £7.50 I've spent on software for a long time.
