  During evaluation of this program, the cursor failed to operate properly and ultimately removed all system recources. A hard reboot was needed to bring things back to normal and to remove the program. Not recommended for use at this time.

  very difficult to open and install. never did get it to work right. I would recommend passing on this one. pointers are pretty lame also.

  It consumes too many clock cycles to leave running all the time. But it sure is fun! The movements are jerky, which is great for the bug pointers!

• A dangerous choice for Windows ME

  I downloaded and installed DotMouse on my desktop running Windows ME. It used about 10% of available resources, and did not allow me to change the default cursor--a butterfly--due to low resources. Then, when I tried to get out of the program, everything on the computer hung, including the Task Manager! Now Task Manager is supposed to get you out of any particular bad program or hung program you are in. I had to get out of everything and reboot. In doing so, I got an ALARMING MESSAGE, telling me Windows would have to be reinstalled. Since Windows ME is OEM supllied on my computer, that means I would have to wipe the disk and lose everything on it, in order to reinstall Windows from the disk supplied by my OEM. Luckily rebooting more or less solved the problems, and put me back into a well-behaved Windows ME environment. Needless to say, the first thing I did was try to deinstall DotMouse. I couldn't find a DeInstall program in the DotMouse folder, or any program listing in the Add/Remove Programs section of Control Panel. I wound up simply deleting all the files. I am hoping there are no registry changes. This program is worth its price--nothing.

• Cute but dangerous on my win98

  It looked adorable at first, but then I could not close nor open programs, my win98 did not digest this dotmouse at all. Got messages... system dangerously low in ressources... So Dotmouse lived less than 5 min on my pc.
