Diagram Designer provides users with an opportunity to quickly design simple flow charts, which should appeal to business people. Though it has a snag with its text feature, the program's simplicity makes it a more attractive choice than other similar programs.
This download has an incredibly simple interface that should not take much getting used to, no matter what level of user you are. Happily, there are Help files on the Internet and within the program. One interface complaint comes from its ability to fill charts with color, since the palette is slightly hidden along the top. However, users will gravitate toward the simple click-and-drag shapes and arrows that will comprise their diagrams. The diagrams were simple to create and adjust if mistakes were made. With a variety of shapes and arrows, even the most complex business flow chart or organizational map can be laid out and labeled on the fly, unlike similar downloads. Our only gripe was with labeling--if users wish to add bold, italic or other font enhancements it must be done using a form of HTML code, which complicates matters for users used to clicking a button for such changes.
However, we felt this freeware program's text snag was easy to overlook since Diagram Designer created our chart much easier than similar products we've tested in the past. We recommend this program for anyone who needs diagrams in a hurry.

Its features are customizable template object palette, slide show viewer, import/export WMF, EMF, GIF, BMP, JPEG, PNG, MNG, and PCX images, simple graph plotter to plot mathematical expressions, spellchecker, advanced pocket calculator with equation solver, MeeSoft Image Analyzer integration for bitmap image editing and extended file format support, and uses compressed file format for minimizing drawing file size.
Version 1.22 includes improved scaling of object groups, option to show printer margins, easier connector editing, and object size display in status bar while resizing links to other pages is now available in slide show mode.

Pros: Easy to use with small learning curve.
Can move group of symbols by dragging selection box.Cons: Shortcut keys are needed to enable the line and arrow connectors.
Cannot automatically move following symbols forward or backward when inserting or deleting symbols.Summary: This is a really nice flowcharting software for programmers. For the price (free) it's terrific.

"Great simple to use flow diagram creator"
Pros: A simple to use flow diagram design program anyone who can use a computer can use without any advanced training.
Results can be exported as several several different graphic formats suitable for importing into any program.Cons: None that I have found.
Summary: Anyone can use this program to create diagrams or flow charts. No formal training is required. Though, to make the best use of this program to produce good results some knowledge of flow charting and/or diagram creation should be a prerequisite.

Pros: Absolutely fantastic for the price - FREE!!! I had to lay out something for school and it came out looking extremely professional....Easy to manipulate the shapes into what I needed for the project - not your normal hippo flowchart shapes.
Cons: Connect lines are a little weak and don't always connect. When you move objects, the connecting lines may not go with the object as a result. You can't place an object within an object, no way to draw a circle with the line tools.
Summary: The two weak spots were minor annoyances. The power of the program far outweighs these minor items. A real keeper!!!!

"Its so natural and devilishly simple to get into this."
Pros: Simple uncluttered interface. Lightweight.
Cons: Connecting snapping points sometimes don't work. The connectors need a rework.
Summary: Some software are too big and bulky and you have to go through multiple steps just to initialize. For non complicated works, this suits the bill.
