This wallpaper program turns your desktop into a full-on outer-space adventure. The demo for Desktop Dreamscapes lets you access four of ten out-of-this-world scenes packed with colorful planets, asteroids, and spacecraft. We like that the program often switches camera angles, giving the action a big-screen feel. The atmospheric soundtracks are about what you'd expect and lend the appropriate ambience. Right-clicking on your desktop lets you access the customization options. You can adjust the volume of the audio, have scenes switch at a few intervals, and enable the high-quality video mode. Desktop Dreamscapes didn't negatively affect our PC's performance, though it does take up a bit of hard drive space. Sci-fi buffs will find this program a welcome addition.Publisher's description
From Super X Studios :Replace your static desktop with a living 3D window into outer space. Visit distant star systems, beautiful alien worlds, and a black hole. Desktop Dreamscapes replaces your standard Windows desktop background with a fully 3D real-time rendered window into the cosmos. Desktop Dreamscapes runs seamlessly in the background while you work, utilizing wasted processing and rendering time.
Pick from 10 amazing scenes or have them rotate randomly: tour strange and beautiful alien worlds; an unfortunate research vessel ventures too close to a black hole; a deep space probe journeys through a dangerous new solar system; and behemoth cruisers volley with nuclear munitions.

Version: Desktop Dreamscapes 1.0
Pros: Good looking active desktop, but...
Cons: But... Try to uninstall it... No way to get your desktop back in your hands. Only way to get him back is to search deep in your system and to completely addict to that task. Why? Uninstall don't work good job at all. And even you can't uninstall it thru Add/Remove. Like some ***** spyware.
First few minutes is good to look at him. And then becomes boring. Very boring. Even when you change themes. In any way, it slows down your system (and i mean SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW...) and there is no way to shut it down except uninstaling. Which, as i told, don't work good job.
It's your choice. If you want to "look nice and doesn't matter how my computer is working" - great deal... If you care about your computer - stay away of this.

Version: Desktop Dreamscapes 1.0
Pros: The background looks real, and the orbits surrounding the plants look cool.
Cons: The planets have zigzag on the edges, and the ships look real fake- it just sits there on the forefront. There seems to lack a middle layer between the foreground and background.

Version: Desktop Dreamscapes 1.0
"Amazing concept! Looks incredible!"
Summary: As animated desktops go, this program is without equal. I'm running it on a P4 2.8, 1Gb Ram and GForce 4 Ti 4200. Not a hint of system drag and not a single glitch in the graphics. Hard to believe it's only $15 US. Well worth the price.

"Nice graphics, soso sounds, but a lot of fun....."
Pros: Makes XP fun again. It's like watching a cheap sci/fi movie on your desktop..except it's wallpaper. I'm running it on 4 comps (1 P2-300,1 1.6Ghz, 1 2.6Ghz, and 1 3Ghz) and the P2-3oo is the only one that won't run it. No real slowdown even on the 1.6 Duron. Nice addition, a lot of fun, and it's fairly cheap.
Cons: The graphics are tired. This is not StarWars Episode 3 level graphics. I've seen better graphics in games from 1998 (StarCraft has better graphics). Clunky is the only word that comes to mind. Animation is a little jerky from to few frames used. The sound effects are clunky too. Sounds like some rips from an old Atari 2600 game.
