Do you use Craigslist? This Internet Explorer add-on makes accessing and using it even easier.

Craigslist USA Side Search Bar is a free add-on for IE that adds an unobtrusive button (so unobtrusive we had difficulty noticing it) to IEs toolbar. Clicking it opens a vertical side pane to your browser window, from which you can enter terms to search for on Craigslist. The pane is a bland white with black type with nothing fancy or elegant and it takes up an inordinate amount of window space. The typical search categories are available in a drop-down list community, events, gigs, housing, and so forth as well as a list of 22 major cities in other drop-down list. Most of the major metropolitan areas are represented.

In our tests, this search tool performed well, responding quickly to our clicks. Users who rely on Craigslist will like this handy tool. Users new to Craigslist will find the tool helpful in sorting through the variety of stacked content on the usual Craigslist site. We recommend it for all skill levels.

The Craigslist Side Search is an Explorer bar extension, suitable for use with Internet Explorer versions 5,6, and 7. Use the convenience of searching with Craigslist-USA from a side Explorer Bar. This is an excellent tool for IE7 users, who miss the convenience of earlier versions of Internet Explorer that had the Search button and Search Assistant. Select to search Craigslist classifieds for gigs, housing, events, jobs, and personals in your local US city. The installer includes a toolbar/command bar button to quickly toggle the side-bar view on IE7 installations where the Menu bar is not visible. The side bar can also be activated from the View>Explorer Bar>Craigslist USA Side Search bar menu option. To remove the side bar from your computer, select the 'Uninstall the Craigslist USA Side Search Bar for Internet Explorer' option from the Add/Remove Programs applet. This version is the first release on CNET Download.com.
