It pays to be able to quickly and easily convert measurements. Whether you're a small business or just trying to get a sense of scale, you need an answer as quickly as you can get it. ConvertPad will switch just about any measurement you can think of to the right sum very quickly. It's not the prettiest thing to look at or use, but it gets the job done.
ConvertPad for Android offers to switch the native language immediately when you download, which is a nice touch for international users. What isn't as nice is how long the app takes to set things up. This process only has to happen once for the app to work successfully every time, though. Instead of calculating one measurement into another, ConvertPad gives you an easy-to-read chart with every possible measurement for that category. This is quicker, but the lists are sometimes cut off by banner ads on the bottom of the screen. These ads can be eliminated with a $2.50 upgrade. ConvertPad supports over 100 categories of measurement, which makes it a great all-in-one app, but it sometimes takes a while to find useful categories like temperature, distance and weight among all the categories that many people won't ever use. Luckily, you can save favorites to make your search a little easier.
That lengthy list and a very boring layout make the program something of a pain to look at. However, if you prefer function over form, ConvertPad for Android is definitely the app for you. It's worth downloading just for the possibility of never having to use a clunky Web-based measurement converter again. A cleaner, prettier layout would push the app into five-star territory, though.
