Publisher's Description
From Infovibe:
ComBonus enhances combo boxes by expanding the size of the drop down area to utilize all available screen space. Say goodbye to the frustration of only being able to see 3 or 4 entries at a time, having to use a cumbersome scrollbar to see the remaining entries, while the rest of your screen space goes to waste. The expanded height of the drop down area allows more entries to be displayed on the screen at the same time. This reduces the time required to locate a desired entry. The expanded width allows the contents of each entry to be viewed in full, eliminating the clipping that can occur when the combo box is too narrow. Without ComBonus, it can be impossible to differentiate one entry from another if the two entries begin with the same text. ComBonus requires no work to use. Simply install it and forget about it. ComBonus enhances your combo boxes automatically.

"Publishers website was all outside ads."
Version: ComBonus 1.0
Pros
I never installed this software because the link to their website is wrong. Google searches find a lot of places to download this software. Since the publisher cannot be found for comment, perhaps there is no way to pay for the program.
Cons
Since I can't find the publisher, I can't ask questions. There are no forums, no way to report bugs, or check compatibility with other things I have installed. This leaves me gambling with too many unknowns.
Summary
The only reason I am writing this review is cnet asked for it.
In the past I have installed programs that damaged my installation, crippling functionality in one way or another. Some of these left problems so severe that I had to reformat and build my installation from scratch. A time consuming process, with no real reward.
These days I create virtual machines to test software configurations. While this is a safer way, it is not perfect. I cannot create a VM that uses the same hardware or drivers that are on any machine I would want to use daily. My favorite VM program for x86 is Virtualbox, which you can download here.

Today I am using my backup machine, and don't have the resources to host a VM.
In the last few weeks I lost a 8 month old SATA 500 gig HD (probably a BIOS issue I was unaware of when I bought the thing), where I kept my virtual machines. A couple of weeks later my main machine died from still unknown causes, I think a Microsoft update disagreed with it (because that was the only change made during the time frame). I investigated both of these hardware failures as best I could (I have no similar hardware to test CPU and MB with, but the rest of it works well). I am holding off using the Master HD until later, but it passed tests and scans as slave. I had never over-clocked my machine. I ran regular maintenance and monitored both power and temps under load for a few hours, at least weekly. There are several reasons why I don't monitor constantly. I check machine logs regularly, and do diagnostics when anything seems out of bounds.
The moral is, trouble happens even when you are playing it safe, but it happens more often if you don't.
No publishers website and no other programs by that author are two good reasons not to gamble your installation on ComBonus. -
"Fixes an annoying problem!"
Version: ComBonus 1.0
Summary
This program is great. Braindead combo boxes are one of the biggest pet peeves I have with Windows. Why should I be limited to seeing only 4 entries at a time -- I have a 21 inch monitor! This program fixes that problem and makes my computer less frustrating to use.
Doesn't work with Excel though. This is my only complaint. The readme says Microsoft is using nonstandard combo boxes.
